So for TESO, I wanted to start recording my own and my guild's gameplay. I don't know anything about doing that sort of thing. Anyone have any tips, suggestions or advice? Even if someone could point me towards a decent tutorial, that would be awesome. Thanks in advance.

Well I will share what I know to my new Sir Guild Master,

Your going to need video compression, my suggestion? Handlebrake. I just learned of it myself through another guildy from my swtor guild. Its free and open source.

A 5:42 guide of the program,

Fraps is the software I use to record gameplay video.

Then for streaming to Twitch.tv their are programs like X-Split, that I've heard of and used before.

For editing your footage, what I have been using is the windows movie maker, but I am going to use something better here soon. Movie maker does work, its very simple to use and it compresses your videos automatically.

But yea I am kind of new to this stuff myself and definitely far from a professional at it at the time.

EDIT: Took out the clutter and I would check out Open Broadcaster Software that Tecca shared below me. Its free and open source.

I personally just use OBS (Open Broadcaster Software). It has the ability to record locally or you can stream live to websites such as Twitch.tv, if you have an account. It's easy to use and will take about 10(?) minutes to set up when you first grab it. Making new scenes is simple, and recording is a breeze. I've been using it quite a bit and I really don't need anything else since it suits all of my needs.

Awesome thanks guys I appreciate it. I will look into it when I get some time a little later. That helps a ton.

Also, @Tecca does that OBS mess with your performance at all?

Nope, I haven't noticed any FPS drop or anything like that at all. I stream in 720p or locally record in 1080 and everything runs perfectly smooth.
