Questions regarding game mechanics

I have a couple questions regarding the game

1. Weapon Deterioration - Just wondering if this feature will make a return from Oblivion. Will weapons and armor "deteriorate" like they did in Oblivion and make us repair them? I'd personally like to see this feature make a comeback, if it's not already in-game.

2. I plan on making a Nord Tank/Warrior that uses full heavy armor and a 2h greatsword. As for the abilities/skills, will I have to have magicka to use some of them? I want to focus mainly on Health and Stamina and leave my magic pool untouched. Basically, I want to use my abilities, but don't want to use magic at all. I'd rather use Stamina instead for everything. In ESO, is it possible to do this?

3. Will random items/junk be plentiful throughout the game? I've always liked in ES games the fact I can take anything. Be it a wooden bowl, a ruby, or a broom stick. Will there be a vast variety of items for us players to take? Could we be exploring a cave and find a ruby and some gold sitting on a table and a knapsack next to it for us to plunder like in previous ES titles?

4. Last one for now. Dwemer? Any rumors of at least one Dwarf making it into the game? I've always been fascinated by them.

Do you mind? I'm busy doing the fishstick. It's a very delicate state of mind!

Ok

1. No I don't think Wepaon Deterioration is going to come back in ESO, and it was in Morrowind too.

2. Yes you can play a character that doesn't use magic at all, but your magic bar will still be their.

3. Oh yes, It wouldn't a Elder Scroll game without it :D

4, No, sadly their is the one in Morrowind, but I think he's on Vvardenfell. And we wouldn't we be able to play on the island so far. Maybe in a DLC?

1. I'll parrot alien138

2. Whether such an approach will be practical or not isn't certain, but you should bear in mind that class abilities all consume magicka, whether sorcerer or not. Going without any improvement to magicka could potentially handicap your character.

3. The devs have stated that this is their intent. I hope we see it.

4. I'll parrot alien again.

Thanks for parroting me :D
But I think that Zenimax online would want to do just the opposite. This game, a TES game no less, should be able to make a character that you create. So I say, that you should be able to do whatever you what.
Plus, how is a ruby trash? Winking_grinning

Just an FYI, Armor does deteriorate but I'm unsure if weapons do also.

1. Currently I do believe their is indeed a deterioration system, as well as for armor.

2. Some skills require mana while others require stamina, it depends.

3. Not as much as you would think, but there are indeed items around.

4. Not a clue... Pretty sure they might make an appearance in a expansion.

There will be random junk I'm sure, just less of it.

You will be at a disadvantage gameplay wise without magic I think, you can see it is really built into each class, but it is certainly doable as heavy armour and 2H need no magicka to be effective. Zenimax constantly stresses this type of freedom in character creation.

Their is a Dwemer is a TES game.

Dragonknight skills are amazing for melee, fiery rech and other skills we already know about seem to be great for dps builds, they all use magika, ignoring them is dumb, plain and simple. If you're going for a more tanky build there are still defensive skills that you will be missing. The point is, ignoring three skill lines of your class just because you don't want to use magika will cripple your options.

When you level up, all of your stats will increase and THEN you can choose which one to further enhance. Completely neglecting the magicka pool will still let you use a spell or two, but that's about it. If you were hoping to use your class skills I would at least put a little bit in magicka. However, nothing is stopping you from loading your hotbar up with your weapon skills, faction skills, etc. and never having to touch magicka. While it would be just as effective if played right as one that has magicka, the amount of builds you could work with will be drastically hindered.

This is an interesting development. Is there a source?

I will only answer #1. Yes, your armor will be damaged and need repair because that´s one of the penalties to be revived by a soul gem. so yes, it´s a certainty.

It was in an interview with Maria Aliprando back in August

This bit?:

"Q: Death penalties are just armor penalties or?
A: It is armor degrade. You get two options when you die, you can either ress at a Wayshrine – fast travel systems. If you are currently at a Wayshrine, it is free, or you can click at the map and teleport to any Wayshrine that that you have already discovered. You can ress in place, but you must have a soul gem, and you must have it filled with a soul obviously. Soul gems are used for both ressing yourself, ressing allies, and keeping your gear enchanted."

It sounds more like a death penalty than armor/weapon degradation from use. It could be a matter of semantics, but armor/weapon degradation (for me) means that the more you use them, the more you have to have them repaired, or they break. If this is a death penalty, and you fail to die, your armor/weapons do not degrade, and she doesn't really clarify that here.
