Faction & Race:
Aldmeri Dominion (Khajiit)
Name: Ra’Makh Qa’Dram

Race: Khajiit (Suthay)

Age: 25

Sex: Male

Skills: Ra’Makh was taught by Hylthade, an altmer friend, to wield a sword and make use of a few spells. Ra’Makh carries a traditional khajiiti blade, and uses lightning-destruction magic against his enemies. Ra’Makh has earned a wise and persuasive tongue from his time as a shopkeeper, and remembers some of what his bosmer friends in Elden Root taught him about the bow.

Faction: Aldmeri Dominion

Occupation: Scholar, Author, Researcher

Birthsign: The Lord

Appearance: Ra'Makh possesses black fur with short white stripes down the spine, and white eyes with black slits. His claws have been sharpened, and are slightly smaller than average. Ra'Makh's mane is dark, and flows unkempt around his ears. There is a small scar running across his back from when a guard caught him stealing bread. Ra'Makh prefers to wear leather armor made from elephant hide, and he reinforces the breastplate with glytpodon shells on the front and back. Typically, Ra'Makh wears a heavy cloak over his armor. He carries with him a satchel containing all his research, food, and other miscellaneous things.

Personality: Ra’Makh is intelligent, and fiercely loyal. He is not eager to trust, but can share anything with those whom he does trust. He is very emotional, and tries his best to suppress it with hard logic and reasoning. Because of this he sometimes comes off as cold or heartless, but is never indecisive. He has a great respect for Scholars and mages. Ra’Makh often spends his time reading or writing in Falinesti’s library. He misses his home greatly, and often feels alone, being the only Khajiit in Falinesti. Ra’Makh has studied and is friends with many vampires and werewolves, and has often considered being turned himself.

Best Memory: Time spent with Hylthade in Torval.

Worst Memory: Watching his mother suffer under the grip of Knahaten Flu.

Religious Views: Ra’Makh, like all Khajiit, worships the Moon gods Jode and Jone. He also worships Baan Dar, the Khajiiti god of cleverness. Beyond this, Ra’Makh is not admirably pious. He never really attends any form of service, preferring to pray on his own in his home in Falinesti.

Political Views: Ra'Makh does not agree with the more extreme Altmer parties, but trusts Queen Ayrenn's leadership, and believes that the Daedra-summoning Empire must be stopped

Background: Ra’Makh Qa’Dram was born in Torval in 2E 554. His mother was a personal servant of the Mane, and because of this she was forbidden from having children. She was forced to keep Ra’Makh a secret from the Mane. Ra’Makh spent much of his childhood alone wandering Torval’s streets. He became close friends with a High-Elf traveler staying in Torval. Her name was Hylthade. Hylthade taught young Ra’Makh the way of sword and spell. In return, the young khajiit showed her how to move like a whisper.
About a year later, when Ra’Makh was only nine, his mother fell gravely ill with Knahaten flu. She was among the first to die from the epidemic. Hylthade tried with all her might to heal the mother. She tried in vain. However, Hylthade did save the life of Ra'Makh, now an orphan. She saw the plague spread all around her, and she left Torval to escape. Hylthade took Ra’Makh, now an orphan, with her to Valenwood.
Ra’Makh traveled with the high-elf woman through Valenwood’s thick forests. Eventually, they stopped at Elden Root. There, Hylthade left the wise young Ra’Makh, for she believed he was more than ready to survive on his own. The strapping young suthay made himself a life in Elden Root. He worked as a fletcher for eight years, living with a kind Bosmeri family, friends of Hylthade. When Ra’Makh reached twenty, many things changed.
Ra’Makh heard of Queen Ayrenn’s Ascension to the Aldmeri throne, and learned of the growing tension between the three alliances and Cyrodiil. Ra’Makh joined the Aldmeri Dominion's army, and quickly rose to the rank of officer (not necessarily because of his skill). Many of Ra'Makh's soldiers knew him only as "Ra Qa." or "Wise and unkown." After a year and a half, Ra’Makh was released from the army, seeing no action. He made his living as a merchant, trading Khajiiti goods in Falinesti. Ra’Makh also wrote a number of books about Elsweyr, and taught Falinesti’s mages of the Tenmar forest and the beasts within. Ra'Makh spent a few odd years traveling Tamriel, documenting flora and fauna. He was reluctant to make friends, for he was afraid he might see them on the battle-field someday.

Challenges for the character: Trying to fit in in a bosmer city, overcoming his homesickness for Torval, balancing his emotions (so as not to come off as either an emotional dimwit, or a cold, heartless beast), and not dying in the inevitable war.

there's alot of things that i like about this character, first of i like how you have done the name 'Ra’Makh Qa’Dram' instead of having it just Ra Qa, there will be alot of people wanting to name themselves Ra Qa in game i believe because you can just search 'khajiit naming' and it will take you to a page which has 9 or 10 of these words (with their meanings) which can be used for khajiits names. i also like what you have written for personality

I don't know what to think with him being buddies with the queen, making your character have a close bound/ relation or be trained by a major character can be a slippery slope. I personally wouldn't do it but in the end thats just me and if you Queen Ayrenn to teach your character the way of the sword and spell i can not stop you.

I would like to see more in the appearance section and i need to better know what his strengths and weaknesses are. you have told be that he knows how to use spells and swords, he is also an officer (so by logic you would guess he is good) but he also is friends with the queen so he could of quickly rose up the ranks due to this and not being a good fighter at all which could make for an interesting story and character. lastly i would like to see the most important section which everyone misses out. 'challenges for the character'. this section is mega important if others are to better understand your character. i would go for at least 3. social, emotional and physical. you have hinted at some with in your bio. 'He is very emotional, and tries his best to suppress it with hard logic and reasoning.' could be a challenge either way! does his emotion get the better of him at times? or does he think too logical he becomes hard and cold?

i enjoyed reading this character and i look forward to watching him expand

Thanks for the advice, I did make some changes. Him being friends with Ayrenn (before she became queen) was added in to justify him joining the Aldmeri Dominion (He's not a huge fan of its ideology, but trusts Queen Ayrenn). While he certainly doesn't receive visits from her anymore, her influence aided his climb up the military ladder. I do admit that seeing him as an officer at the begining of the war is a bit OP, but i thought it seemed more realistic than Queen Ayrenn completely forgetting him. Thanks again for the constructive criticism.

I really like this sheet, you've put thought and work into it and for that you have my thumbs up :)

There's just one thing I want to point out, since it's been the reason for so many RP-conflicts on many games and many servers; it's usually best to not claim to have any personal relationships/friendships/history with a keyfigure in the lore (in this case the queen). If nothing else, it's better to keep it really ambiguous (for example: "He was traveling with the queen's expedition for some time, until he continued on his own", etc). To claim to have personal ties with mighty figures in the lore IC'ly, has a huge potential to end up in metagaming in roleplay. That's why it's usually avoided and even frowned upon. It's just a heads up, perhaps it's a good idea to make his time in the queen's presence a bit less detailed and matter-of-factly :)

Yeah, I guess it's too over-powered for any RP. I'll just change it to some different (less famous) high-elf. Thanks for the input!

Changes made.

With those changes, Ra'Makh looks like a great character. Author and scholar should provide a different perspective on the events of TESO than other characters. Also a plus to see another Khajiit.

Ra'Makh has lived quite an eventful life so far! Quite well traveled after meeting his high elf friend, and has taken on many professions and interests. I like how he's very academic oriented as a researcher and scholar-- and has very natural concerns about the upcoming war!

As Quib has been mentioning in other bios, perhaps you could describe his Skills in a more natural flowing way-- much like how you described his appearance and personality! This will make it fit more seamlessly into the entire piece.

For his friend, Hylthade, we don't really know much about her except that she's a traveler who knows magic and a bit of swordwork. Perhaps you could add a single line to describe her, is she some sort of ambassador from the Summerset Isles? Is she a wandering spellsword looking for work? Did she claim to be something odd? This will help us get a better idea of who Ra'Makh spent time with, and how that might've influenced him.

For a Khajiit, his name is slightly odd. They traditionally don't have a last name, like other races may have. For the most part they only have one word, often with a prefix, as their name. Right now he has two first names basically. If you need a source on that, you can find it here: http://uesp.net/wiki/Lore:Khajiit_Names

About his armor, I'm not familiar with the creatures of Tamriel-- but I'm unsure if elephants exactly exist, and if they do in Elsweyr. It's certainly plausible, just like how mammoths and bears are present, but just keep it in mind incase they're not.

Anyways this is a pretty good bio, and I hope you enjoy using this character going into the future!

I read somewhere that there were elephants in Elsweyr, so I just went with it. You may be right though. I added a little tidbit explaining his surname. All in all, thanks for the advice!

Not too many khajiit scholars around, I really enjoyed reading this character sheet. I thought it was brilliant to connect your character to the Knahaten flu. It had ravaged the entire province, so very few would have been untouched by it in some way. I like in the challenges you wrote fitting into a bosmer city. The khajiit and bosmer have fought each other for a long time before becoming allies in the Aldmeri Dominion. It would make sense that there would be some issues trying to live in a former enemies society.

The one thing I thought seemed a little unrealistic was that part about him joining the army and becoming an officer very quickly, even though he saw little action. Ra'Makh seems very young to have that kind of background. (I'm guessing he is 25 when the events of TESO begin) Other than that, it looked very good!

Do'Shanji - Khajiit warrior
Roac Bellecot - Redguard farmer
Jaree-Tah - Argonian agent
