Hey guys/girls. I have seemed to have gotten myself in a bit of a mix.
I was going to be playing an Orc Warrior typed class as my friends will be on DC.
Then I thought about it and I kind of feel in the mood to play an archer/stealth typed class. Just I can't really see what race on DC would best suit that roll. I also don't know if being a stealth/archer is more viable than playing a warrior.

I was going to be a 2 handed warrior but I can see that being an issue as I am wanting to play PvP.

I am so confused. Can someone possibly persuade me to take a certain race and class.

Well one of the first things I should say is whatever race you chose you can have all these things, it might just take some time. As in Skyrim the more you use a weapon/skill it will lvl so have no worries there. I guess when the game starts you can test these things out and see which best suits you.
The only thing you need to make a decision on is what class you will play seeing that they all have different skill trees and abilities.

Yes that is true but as stated I am having difficulty in choosing exactly what class I want to play. I am not sure if I could play an archer/stealth class or play a warrior, be in a dual wielder or a 2 hander. It is just I am struggling to see if a 2 handed warrior would be good for PvP as people could easily evade the attack.

The thin is... any class can be that, your class wont limit you in any way on what type of gameplay you chose.

So let me make it extremly easy for you to chose:
Sorcerer - will be lightning base and summoning
Dragon Knight - will be Fire based and Earth base abilitys
Templar - will be "holy/Sun" (Aedra) base dameg
Nightbalde - (wo know nothin of this class yet, but i am 99% sure) it will be Cold damage based

Any of this classes can be 2h Warrior, or Stealty Bow user, now what you need to chose i what element is your favorite.

Okay; I kind of see, it just seems very confusing to me. I guess I will just have to see once the game has been released or wait for a possible open beta.

@Desolatom

I guess the Redguard would the best suited for stealth gameplay since they are excelled in the use of weaponry. They'll probably get some extra points on melee weapon damage.

The Orc and the Redguard would both make great two handed warriors. The Orc would be a bit more excelled in health and armory and the Redguard would be slightly better when it comes to damage.

However, you should not base your race and class on how you want to play. If you want to be a mage and you love Orcs, why not be an Orc mage? You would only lessen your gameplay experience if you'd pick a Breton instead just because they've got 1 or 2 points extra when it comes to magicka.

That is a very true point, thank you, I think I will most likely end up playing an orc dual wielder.

Beor is pointing what became a standard in mmo genre, any choice that gives you +1% effectiveness is the only choice and people would be mocked if they stray from it

This community however boasts large number of ES vets and roleplayers, so no one would mock others for it here, quite opposite actually

I have made the decision to become a hircine-hating lycanthrope dunmer sorcerer and nothing can change my mind about it, even despite latest development shows dunmer might be potentially "the" dragonknight race and many people might be swayed that way. Thats because I think its damn cool and in a game that should last me years: cool > marginal bonus

Take a good look at the races and choose what seem most cool to you. If you are bound to DC, Orcs are damn cool and rarely picked, so they will give you more sense of uniqueness. I suggest reading about them here http://www.uesp.net/wiki/Lore:Orc because they are far beyond Tolkien mongrels

As stated above, any race can fill any role. For Rp purposes though, I could most easily imagine Redgaurd as a stealth character. Thinking along the lines of the Alik'r Warriors, they seem kind of like an assassin-esque group. Though, just because one race can most easily be imagined in a role does not mean that you can't break that mold. You could easily make an interesting character that plays an atypical role

Also, if you plan on rolling a warrior, don't be afraid of using a two-hander. Sure, it might be a bit slower to swing, but in PvP it'll make for great DPS solely due to the hard hits that will surely follow along with each swing.

I'm sure that it will be a lot easier than it seems like to aim with a two-hander.

Lot of good points, if I could make a suggestion, if you intend to RP in the game build the story of the character (and even if you don't plan to RP really it can make the game more interesting) make the character you want give him/her the name you want to keep that name locked down for yourself and then don't be afraid to make different characters to build and play around with. Try not to set anything in stone on your main character until you really know what you want him or her to be. In short I'm just saying if you will (like me) have one character that you will care about/play more than the others then don't be afraid to put him/her on the back burner for a while to make sure that you will build him/her into something that you will really enjoy later on.
