Racial Equality, does it put factions ahead or behind others in ES.

Faction & Race:
Aldmeri Dominion (Altmer)
Here is a question to all those ESO players who love to get deeply involved in the politics and morals of certain races and factions within the Elder scrolls. My question to you is this. Are factions who allow their members to be of various races ahead of those who put the well being of their own race first? For example is the dark brotherhood who accepts any very talented killer no matter the race into their ranks better off and more civilized then a faction like the storm cloaks who prompts the race of the nords to stand together under one banner for pro nordic reasons. Or does the faction who is pro one race have the advantage.

If this is a serious question about mechanics and not a hypothetical RP discussion, then a guild allowing all races of a faction into their fold would definitely be superior, simply due to the existence of racial skill lines. While the exact contents of those lines are not yet publicly known, we can expect they will be somewhat similar to the single player game, and because of that, certain races will be better for certain roles.

For example, if Nords makes the best tanks, Dark Elves make the best DPS, and Argonians make the best healers (completely hypothetical here), a guild where players are allowed to optimize their racial selection will have the advantage over a guild where everyone has to be the same race.

This probably holds true for the same reasons in the hypothetical RP situation as well.

Alright so lets break this down a little bit first as in the real world racial inequality no matter what we like to think does exist and racial melding to some degree because of these ideas and classifications causes conflict.

In ES which in many ways mimics and acts like our ancient world with some races even being inspired by a compilation of multiple cultures. Now you end up with the odd sense that there is long seeded hatred between these races that usually can not just slip away. Now in the case of a group like the dark brotherhood which has a strict moral code and is rather small over all with no more than 20 people being in one chapel and so on it equates to manageable to forget racial identities and choose a new more universal one under Sithis. This however does not work in other cases the larger the army gets the larger the group gets the more cause for trouble there is.

Prison's are a great example of this we divide into what is familiar and show preference to what we know. This can be changed however based on where and who raised them though in that is not a factor on a big enough scale to make a huge difference. Life experience can also affect this for example characters who have been a slave generally would not support slavery and so on and yet again unless they achieve great power it does not make a great affect and even then they may end up butting heads with their own race. There is a sense of structure and benefit to more focus on your own races benefits. It gives you a clear and concise group of people you focus on as well as it gives those people a reason to have nothing but the utmost loyalty for you. As when you try to be equal and include all races you do end up with the issue of someone always feels shafted and sometimes people in every race would feel that way leading to instability and conflict between your own groups.

There is more stuff to go into, but I will stop there for now and to be honest my standpoint on this is that until we actually forget that we are suppose to try for equality in both worlds matter a fact there is no such thing. When you try to achieve something and make yourself constantly aware of it you become over sensitive and sometimes cause the issue to just fester rather than fade away.

"Are factions who allow their members to be of various races ahead of those who put the well being of their own race first?"

... I dont get it, Dark brotherhood is Assassins guild, Stormclocks is some thin like independents movement for Nord rights, and i stress "NORDS", so how do other races enter into this equation?

So... can you help me here? i just dont get what you are asking...

If that is his question. Its entirely situtational, as the race passives offer some goodies which are entirely situtational. Let's say a Dunmer only guild will have a fun time versus a group of fire-damage based characters, but a Nord only guild would be more efficient versus frost-damage users.

I thought in TESO the Races aren't going to be so tied to particular skills as they are in the single-player games. They've said that there will be great freedom of character build .. that you can make a heavy armor wearing, staff wielding Mage or a bowyer tank or a stealth healer or whatever.

So is it really going to matter in TESO whether guilds, groups, armies are of a sole Race or mixed? Perhaps I don't understand your question.

TESO - - Multiplayer: "M'aiq does not know this word. You wish others to help you in your quest? Coward! If you must, search for the Argonian Im-Leet, or perhaps the big Nord, Rolf the Uber. They will certainly wish to join you." M'aiq the Liar.

"Va Khaj Dar - Khajiity's united? M'aiq will join!" M'aiq the Liar
