Lets have us a good discussion about the Redguards. It seems everyone on the DC page is talking about how little Orcs their are, or how awesome the Breton rogue was int the cinematic trailer. I think the Redguards need some recognition. I mean I love the Redguard culture and history, I am so looking forward to seeing Sentinel! What do you think about the Redguards?

Redguards are legit and pretty much the only race of men I play. I don't count breton they are half breeds so lol. I never had interest not even a bit in imperials. I love nords, but they just are not my play style or anything of the sort. They are unique in so many ways. Honestly because of how advanced and how late they came to tamriel there is more on their home Yokuda including the still existing religious and sprittual practices. That makes me really like them because they came in force and were still in tact and had all this preexisting success and then tamed a land that was harsh and barren and made it home. They are resilient and strong and their culture focuses on those things. They are a really cool race that gets really underplayed and under sold. Also deserts kick ass if done right. Just think of all the hidden things in the sands that have swallowed so many lives lol.

Grr, me orc no like redguard. D:<

haha, naw I always thought Redguards were cool, but never really had an affinity to play them in any of TES games because imo they had like. . the WORST hairstyles out of anyone possible. . I do like their lore, however. I feel almost like they're an odd one out or something honestly, which to me makes them have a bit of unique quality to them right there. =P

oh yes the redguards.
they are quite amazing realy.
Originaly they werent, but once Redguard came around and their lore got more refined they did turn into quite the badass race.

With an intriguing culture.

Now witness all the pregnant kings of yokuda.

I really look forward to seeing more Redguard in this game. I came to this series with Oblivion and chose Redguard because they have this natural talent fo war, and through practice they become great, instead of just randomly swinging an axe or mace and hoping it hits. Like others have said this alliance has probably the most rounded-out set of races: Orcs are excellent craftsmen and incredible shock troops. Bretons are good with magic and natural statesmen. Redguards are the soldiers, the fighters. Although persoanlly I really like the norse/celtic style of armour and weapons the Nords have, I play this awesome race (and may be the only redguard walking around in Nord armour :) ).

Redguards are by far the most interesting culture, I hope we can vist Yokuda, perhaps as a side-quest limited to redguards/ daggerfall covenant.

Yokuda is kind of destroyed. It sunk into the ocean.

Up untill ESO? they didnt defeat the dominion up untill ESO.

Till skyrim? Both the Septim and Mede Empire defeated the Dominion.

Your raga worship realy does no good...

Isn't the "most naturally talented warriors in all of Tamriel" enough?

PS - not to get too off topic, but Redguards remind me a lot of the Aiel from the Wheel of Time series... Anyone? ....Anyone....?
Well they're cool. Take my word for it. lol

Its a quote from the link silly, lol

*Scratches head*

Wouldn't the Ra'gada have beaten the Altmer during the initial raid of Hammerfell during the original warrior wave

And I don't worship the Ra'gada I am a Crown man. Forebears were Ra'gada, my character is a proud man of Yokuda and is Na-Totambu. Don't you remember what your precious Imperial library said? Ra'gada are the ancestors to the forebear, Redguard are the entire race, a bastardization of Ra'Gada (who were just part of the them, not all of them).

Really confused I mean I know there are some accounts of traders or some such people going from yokuda to tamriel after it supposedly sunk, but where is the evidence the Ansei lived there I mean totally cool if they still do, but I thought they were the ones responsible or that in some accounts some thought the left handed elves did it because they basically killed them all. Yea I thought they pushed out all the elves when they arrived in hammerfell while technically not the dominion still a pretty crazy feat for new comers.

There will be racial skill lines in TESO, just watch the latest interview videos. Paul Sage said it himself and I am sure that the racial bonuses might make it in from Skyrim. Which means that Redguard get bonuses for destruction and one handed. Though Dunmer in the past have always made awesome battlemages.

yeah... redguards getting a bonus on magic is stupid.

But the racials will NOT be the same as in Skyrim. They will be racial skill trees, not flat boni.

Anyway. The Ansei living on Yokuda is proven by the firt swordmeeting.
And the left Handet elves =/= Aldmeri, neither were the "Beastmen" of Hammerfell.
Well they kinda were. They were Orcs or Goblins. Or both.

EDIT: well actually the left handet elves most certainly were of aldmeri descent. but they werent "The" aldmeri dominion.
