Ebonheart Pact (Dunmer)
Hello. I am thanking up front for taking time if you decide to help me out.

Myself i have decided to roleplay as a Dunmer male, who seeks a company of people who would be loyal friends and would travel with him.

For now i have decided to roleplay and play this character as a restoration/destruction magician from great House Telvanni.

His personal traits are:
-interested in checking the truth of stories (a rather explorous myth buster type)
-calm, has eye for details
-travels around camping or staying in city is not problem for him
-can happen to be found obsessive at certain points: the personal items and people very close to him
-a person suffering for kleptomania (after he would visit places he would take rather few souvenirs away, keeping ones he likes but selling those he doesnt. also leaving salesman perhaps empty of a smaller thing. - it would connect with the eye for details as he is obsessed with rings. he keeps a collection of magic rings in a pouch.
-loves to wear darker colors, gray or black, if any highlights its dark purple red or orange.

this characters weapon of choice is a one hand sword as with other hand he casts.

I am thinking of a name Dreyns as a possible one. He would be in late adulthood.

I know a bit of the lore but to come to the thing how would i make this person as he is, the details in which i could delve and pill out i am not sure.
On this area i would need your help. Can you perhaps help me with maybe details such as:

birthplace
place of learning both restoration and destruction
the general span of years when dunmer is in late adulthood (so i can pick age)
worshipping (myself i was thinking of one of the original trio plus perhaps daedric lord Clavicus Vile. thoughts on this are appreciated)

I am looking forward, as i am also really wishing to roleplay alongside you all in the seems an awsome Elder scrolls online.

Just moved this thread over to the Roleplay Discussion forum; for all OOC and planning needs!

In any case, you seem to have a good foundation for a character! A personality suited to get him out into the world, and a few quirks to differentiate him from others. I'll try to offer some ideas on some of the details you requested.

In terms of birthplace, I suppose the best question to ask would be how do you want the birthplace to influence your character?

Did you want him to be born directly into a Telvanni lifestyle among mushroom towers and wizard lords? If so, I'm afraid there aren't any Telvanni cities known to be present during the second era-- though I'm sure they exist, they just haven't been mentioned. I've heard from a few people that Sadrith Mora was around for a while, though I'm not sure if this is an assumption or a fact supported by a clear source. For now you could name a Telvanni city, and simply be prepared to change it if TESO shows it doesn't exist. Or you could simply make his birthplace vague, and say he was born amongst the Telvanni.

If you wanted anything else, I'm sure anywhere else in Morrowind would be suitable. His Telvanni parents could've lived anywhere, or he could've been born outside House Telvanni and was adopted into it later.

In terms of place of learning restoration and destruction; I believe it is common for dunmer pick it up from a sort of master/apprentice relationship or class. Mind you the Mage's Guild is a foreign entity to the dunmer, and of course are rivals of the Telvanni, so it's unlikely your character to have learned from them. You could do something like have your character be under the tutelage of a higher ranked Telvanni sorcerer.

In terms of age, there's a few different sources you could follow. In this older interview with a dunmer, it is said 50 is the prime of the dunmer's life and at 100 he'll be considered old. Zenimax Online Studios however states here that elves aren't considered old until they're around 200. I'm sure you could go with either source, though you may want to go with the ZOS one since it's more recent.

And lastly for worship, the Telvanni don't particularly concern themselves with the Tribunal so they're may be a few worshipping the Daedra. While your character may be looked down upon by most Dunmer for not following their more widely accepted faith, your character may not particularly care as per the typical Telvanni attitude.

Anyways these are just some ideas that you could go with but you wouldn't be wrong if you didn't!

Thank you for your reply. I took liberty to use some of your help you offered and i outlined some basic square of the story. Consider this as a rough sketch that is missing some basic parts too. :D

Born amongst dunmer of the Great house of Telvanni, somewhere in rural hillside of the Morrowind on a stormy night, the fate of this man was sealed to become great sorcerer.

His tutelage began rather soon, at the age of 11. Being taught of magic from master Conjurer (random name).
After four years the boy became a conjurer himself as well. But he decided to train destruction as well. He was reading lots of books. Aided by famous Destruction magic master (random name) he slowly progressed, his talent only beign soon suppressed by the book he found. The book was describing lands so much in details he wanted to see them.

soon after he escaped from Morrowind and he started his journey through Cyrodil. Each place he visited offered him more books, each book more information’s he wished to check.
Thus soon, he stumbled upon tail of Clavicus Vile supposed temple in caves somewhere in eastern part of Cyrodil.

He wasn’t seen for some time afterwards. In fact, all the journeys cost him of 7 years, seeing almost whole charted world. Through journeys though, he learned exceptional skills in conjuration and destruction magic, some restoration basics too, which would explain that he survived that long.

Now at the age of 104 he slowly began to re-erupt around cities, seeking companions on his journeys. Like minded wizards and adventurers, who would with him explore what is not charted and from that make living with stories they will make up in their adventuring.

i will only ask for the oppinion on this and perhaps guidance how can i work to better it out. i cannot wait to start rp on forums and than that we meet in game one day, perhaps in tavern where this elf wil ltell stories.

It's looking pretty solid for a rough sketch, Feltrand! I'll see if I can throw you a few ideas you might be able to use if you wish.

Perhaps the reason why it was determined that he would become a great sorcerer was because the constellation of the mage was thought to be unusually bright on the night of his birth. There seems to be a lot of emphasis on the stars when it comes to fates, so this might work well.

Concerning his training in conjuration, perhaps you could shift things around a bit and intertwine it with his time while influenced with Clavicus Vile. After all, conjuration tends to involve the daedra quite often.

Lastly, perhaps you could develop a reason why he is seeking companions on his journey. Is he looking to delve into more dangerous territory than he ever has before? Does he feel he has been traveling alone for too long? Did he get stuck in a predicament in his latest journey that would've ended better with a friend? A motivation for this would further expand on the character! (Unless you'd like to keep it mysterious and unknown for any sort of reason.)

In any case, hope this helps and I wish you luck in your RP soon to be on the forums and later on in game! Maybe our characters will meet at some point!

this is a good thinking. perhaps i should change the encountering of clavicus vile in times of learning of conjuration. I will see how can i work up on the story around this, as i understand a lot can be learned if one toys around with things they should not. an artefact or something alike that would be of clavicus vile dedication could proove useful.

And ah yes the dangerous territory to delve into and it is why he seeks companions is probably best choice ever :)
thank you very much on these heads up :)

CLASS: Spellsword/Sorcerer/Battlemage (exact pinpoint will be updated later)
WEAPON: Longer sword, not exactly a doublehander, but a longsword, slightly curved and cut at the end, has one sharp side with exception of 10cm from top of the pointy end.

Born amongst dunmer of the Great house of Telvanni,
somewhere in rural hillside of the Morrowind on a stormy night,
the fate of this man was sealed to become great sorcerer.

His tutelage began rather soon, at the age of 11. Being taught of magic from master Conjurer Aryon Farye.
After four years the boy became a conjurer himself as well. But he decided to train destruction as well.
He was reading lots of books. Aided by famous Destruction magic master Seryne Relas he slowly progressed, his talent only being soon suppressed by the book he found. The book was describing lands so much in details he wanted to see them.

More so he got exceptionally interested into a necklace with strange symbols which was owned by his tutor, master Conjurer, Sorcerer Aryon Farye. Thus soon through this his first contact with daedra, Clavicus Vile was created. Daedra gave him a tempting offer: to steal the amulet and bring it to his temple in remote accessed cavern somewhere south east of the Cyrodil.

This task took him many tries... At the end, by a smart thinking, he decided to challenge the old man on duel of wisdom and magic, as the apprentice at the end beats the master.
Dreyns won by applying a critical wound to the master sorcerer. Due to the rules of the duel, he wasn't found guilty of the kill, and the Telvanni masters recognized him 'clean'. Although he lost most of the reputation he gained.
One thing that went missing from the dead body of Aryon Farye on the night before cremation, was the amulet, but nobody noticed such. The people did noticed though his apprentices fast leaving from the burial site, his hastiness.
On that night he packed light, he took a sword he inherited from family, three books in his sidebag a map and compass, few potions and some light food for 3 days of travel. At end he took a waterskin and left from the town, escaping the region of Morrowind. So too did his moneybag escaped, filled with golden coins and few worthy items that used to belong to the rented place of his master.
He couldn't suppress the lleptomancy inside him.

Each stay in the inns was long for only a night, each morning was waking up early and leaving, the innkeeper finding the doors locked, Dreyns away. Oddly enough they however didnt noticed minor things being taken away, as they always got surprised by letter at the desk, thanking for the services and a golden coin on the parchments.

Dreyns followed his insitinct, the map and the compas, traveling towards the caverns. Last contact was with nearby village, where they offerd him with words of kindness and asking not to go there as no one yet returned from there.

He did went in... But he didnt came back out. As he has found the passage out on the other side, reacher for a secret meeting and talk with daedra.

He wasn’t seen for some time afterwards. In fact, all the journeys cost him of 7 years,
seeing almost whole charted world. Through journeys though, he learned exceptional skills in conjuration and destruction magic,
some restoration basics too, which would explain that he survived that long.

Now at the age of 104 he slowly began to re-erupt around cities, seeking companions on his journeys. Like minded wizards and adventurers, who would with him explore what is not charted and from that make living with stories they will make up in their adventuring. Every adventurer thus far was brave and mouthy until they heard the plan of his, to move in more dangerous zones.
Neither bravehearted Nord warriors, nor skilled Dunmers and neither sneaky Argonians applyed for such travels.

Will you be one who will come and side next to Dreyns at his travels?
