I for one am angry with the p2p model which is quite frankly ridiculous. You should have to pay £9 a month for a game you've already payed £40 for in the first place, especially one that has 100's of hours of play time. Yes I know it's going to allow Zos to bring us regular content but for a game that takes 100's of hours to complete I don't think we'll need new content constantly to enjoy the game for a long time. I think they should lower the subscription fee or give massive discounts for purchasing multiple months instead of just a single month. I would be fine paying to play a game that I've already bought if the fee was lower, they shouldn't get rid of it entirely considering it will add to what they can give us but it should be a smaller fee. So my point is everyone who agrees with me should tell ZOS that we don't want that, go to forums, email them, social networking sites or whatever will get their attention. Don't just nerd rage at them (that wont get us anywhere) give well structured, thought out and persuasive arguments that will enlighten them and hopefully get them to change. We did it before by getting true first person into the game, and the xbox users got Microsoft to change their terrible policies (through not buying their product, but that's on the extreme end of things which I don't really want happening to eso) and bring us fair content! although I do miss taking the piss out of Microsoft :P So people of the cause unite! show ZOS what we want!

I agree, thats like charging $15 a month after charging $40 for ONE month of subscription, which is fairly greedy in my eyes, if i have to pay $40 right off the bat atleast make it last 2-3 months before i have to start giving more and more money

I think they figure the about 6 months worth of guaranteed subs from 1 million odd people at $15 each month, then later moving to a hybrid model of f2p and p2p with cash shop gaining extra crap for sale "to make up for the free people playing free" is worth more to them than launching with a f2p or b2p model initially.

This game comes with quite a massive fanbase, so they expect there will be guaranteed subs at launch, with a decent number remaining after the first "free" month that comes with base game price, for a decent number of months (the old 6 months then go hybrid, as above).

They might even surprise us all and stay subscription model, if they manage to not alienate 80% of all players at the endgame, which most of us will reach within that first 3 to 6 months.

I'm not personally mad. I had intended from the start to pay monthly, even if they ened up doing an optional subscription. I believe in this game and I want it to succeed. My biggest worry about this is how will it affect console gamers? Consoles arleady have to pay a fee for their online service, stack a game subscription on top of it, and it leaves me worried that ZoS could end up losing an entire player base.

Yeah, a lot of us want P2P, read up on existing threads, and gain some understanding of how the industry and the economics works.
Im sorry to inform you, but B2P or F2P DO NOT work for TESO.

I think this thread should be closed, already existing topics discussing this matter.

Oh my god......You guys are utterly annoying. Quit whining and go play your free to play or buy to play crap then, what is there? Guild wars 2? I bet it wont last you very long. 40 bucks for a game is cheap compared to other titles and the subscription fee is for content and patches to the game so shut up.

$15 USD per mo. is standard subscription fee for mmorpg .. most are $14.99 or $14.95. Not that much for a whole month of interactive entertainment.

More to the point for this thread would be for console players - XBox & PS4 - to get together and petition Beth/ZOS for some solution to the double pricing of console fee and game fee. Why in the world does your console charge you to play on it? Another superiority of computers. Oh well, I'm hoping that the devs will make some allowance for the people who are already playing for console because I don't think it's fair for them to pay more overall. .... wait, wait, wait! Did Do'Rakk say "pay for their internet service?" Well, I pay for my internet service for my comp - I don't expect ZOS to pay my Brighthouse bill.

But lowering the $14.99 - good luck with that. I believe it's called knit-picking. You can afford $10 but not $15? Whatcha gonna do? Sell blood?

Roflwaffleauthoritah, with all due respect sir. I'm not entirely convinced you've thought this through a thousand percent before creating this thread.

The game? Its technicalities? How much it costs? Whether its subscription based?

It is what it is.

Thankfully and fortunately, this is not the only game in existence. With that said: No one is forcing you to eat that plate of food you're allergic to, there are many plates of food available that you may or may not enjoy at other tables we hope that you'll enjoy, we have took the time to consider potential allergies our guests may have and have prepared food with this in mind, we apologise if we're unable to accommodate you. Our partner restaurants may provide a more enjoyable experience if this turns out to be the case.

To go as far as saying "Revolution" though? A revolution against what? Society? Being broke? Having a bleak future? Parliament?

I for one and glad that it is subscription based, however I'm not able to form an entire opinion of TESO's form of payment until they disclose the weight of the discounts they will offer for purchasing multiple months at once, I think you should take this into account before deciding if you'll be able to afford this game and before deciding to create a thread that is of no positive benefit to the community here at TESOF.

Roflwaffleauthoritah: "Show ZOS what we want!"

We already have, its a game that is enjoyable regardless of the price tag.

Yours sincerely

Teiji

I'm sorry guys, but this has been beaten to death all over the net by now, and also in existing threads here on TESOF. Closing.
