Note: this isn't just for RPers (or your normal RPers anyway). If you like GoT and just want to play around in Westeros thn give it a shot
So, having noticed that a lot of RPers on the forum enjoyed Game of Thrones/A Song of Ice and Fire, I had this crazy idea to merge the two! So crazy was this idea, so unbelievable on an ESO forum, but so rewarding...
And so, without further ado; I bring you....
A Game of Thrones Role Play!!!
Rules:
What's this, I hear you ask. There are no rules to RPing (well, yes there are, but they are unwritten, or were...). Why should this be any different? Well, my dear mortal, this will not only define your RPing experience. for you see, the first of these, is that you may play not as only one character, but as one family.
I have decided to do this as a lot of the politics in Westeros is to do with alliances between families, and families themselves (e.g. the story of the Starks). So, I have decided to let you control up to five characters. This doesn't mean that there can only be five members of your family, but any family members, not must be mentioned only and cannot make an appearance in the RP itself. If you want to include them in the family list, use brackets.
The second's pretty simple though: don't play as well-known characters from the book/film. This basically means no-one who had an effect on the plot. So; no Starks, no Baratheons, no Freys etc
Setting
See, since there are so many aspects to ASOIAF such as the politics and scheming in Kings Landing, the War of Five Kings, the immigration of the Religion of Rh'llor...
So, I have come up with several ideas:
The Riverlands- Cause that's where shits going down. The Riverlands hold the majority of the Stark/Lannister conflicts, and since Renly's army is in the Reach, just south of there, it could play as a 'what if' scenario involving all five kings, as Stannis wants to take the fight to Renly and Balon might make a coup for the Riverlands as they once used to have control of it. This could have several outcomes with writes taking characters on different sides of the war, each hoping o fulfill their ambitions.
Kings Landing (Five Years prior to a Game of Thrones/Season One)- A tourney and a feast during peace time is a great way to get everyone from all over Westeros in one place so they can backstab each other with ease. Obviously large scale battles couldnt take place but that doesn't mean street fueds or duels can't be taken into acount.
North of the Wall-For the wildling and Night Watch lovers. This would be played slightly differently as the house doesn't have as much pf an effect when you don't legally have one. However, this gives people the opportunity to play as lowborn and construct backstories.
Personally, I would like the King's Landing scenario, but I will leave it up to you. If anyone has any other alternatives, please write them down.
So, just say whether you're interested in the comments and, after we decide which scenario, PM me your characters to avoid crowding up the thread. I will then put them in.
Iogairn:

Ambition- Independence for the Iron Isles
His daughter:
Tyra Gairn- Of sixteen years- Ward of Devyn
Ambition: Reversal of Devyn Pyke's bastardisation
History- The Gairns are not, in fact, a Northern dynasty, but an Ironborn one. Padric Gairn was an Ironborn reaver and navigator, serving as the master-of-arms to Dunstan 'Bonehand' of Old Wyk. However, in Robert's Rebellion, he helped the Northern Fleet, led by Cenard Brane of Wolves Holm, attack the Reach by navigating using the three stars, which are remembered on their sigil. For this he was given honours and invited into Cenard's court. He used this position to marry his eldest, Jon Gairn, to Cenard's daughter. The Gairn family now rules Wolves Holm, as Cenard's two other siblings were lost in the Greyjoy rebellion, in which Padric had to remain neutral, much to the dismay of his brother, Ruagan and son, Faodri, who are both fierce supporters of Iron Island independance, feeling more akin to there than their new home in the North.

Son: Miles Ilesworth, 17
Grandson: <Noah Ilesworth>, 27 (To become a warlock)
History: THe house was founded by Outsiders who made their way into Westeros. Their decendents married into House Lannister but were seen as illegitamite due to their heritage, so a new House was founded as House Ilesworth under Terrance Ilesworth, Brandon's great great grandfather. They swore to house Tully in order to gain a sort of acreditation among Westoros. Brandon continues to hold loyalty to house Lannister. Because they try to promote independence, they are often seen as hypocrates for bowing down to House Lannister, much to the shame of other members of the family, especially Miles and Lady Joceline. To his day the House has an open door policy for Outsiders seeking asylum.
Miasmador:
House Anderll of Dorne
Sigil: A white eagle backed by orange

Land: Their lands consist of the area around their castle, Sandwood. They own all the farms that surround the castle and town, about twenty of them, growing food and livestock. Sandwood was built in the east of Dorne, and is a mile upriver from where the Vaith meets the Greenblood. As it is situated next to a river the lands are fertile, providing a good supply of money and food, with no lack of water in the city.
History: A minor house in Dorne, the Anderll family is descended from the Rhoynar and have lived in the lands they own since their ancestors settled there. They have alliances with the Martells, ties within the Iron Isles, the Vale and the North. In Robert's Rebellion they supported the Targaryens, losing most of their men in general and a quarter of their men at the Battle of the Trident. The town of Sandwood was built around a hundred years after the actual castle was built, and the farms even later. They were a fighting family, mostly relying on plundering and trading to get food, and have only recently dropped their ways, though kept up the high standard in fighting for their children. In the conquest of Dorne by Daemon Targaryen they helped gain back Dorne when Daeron was killed, earning themselves more land.
