Can you help me with coming up with a good surname from a noble of the North?
I can help, though I can't say whether it would be good or not. To be honest, what I'd do (And I did do) was look on the wiki of a song and ice a fire at other houses and take inspiration from them, and also places in Westeros. If you want you could mix up a few surnames from Westeros?

I can look after names at the wiki, thanks for the tip with the wiki :)
No problem, hope it helps :)

Just PM me your family characters and land. And if we are doing the King's Landing Scenario, which we probably will be, then Jon Arryn is Lord of the Eyrie and Robert Arryn hasn't even been born. Also, the Lords Paramount will have very little connotations with the RP. We'll all be relatively minor nobles.

I need to Think of a good char, he will be a Knight of Winterfell anyway...

Ehm, sorry. Should have picked up on this earlier. There are no knights in the North. I hope this doesn't affect your planning too badly. You can always change where the family is from.

There are actually still knights in the north, donre, and even the iron islands it just does not hold as much standing or social significance. They exist though cause it is the back bone of warfare in the seven kingdoms brought by the andals and was spread throughout all the regions by Aeagon. An example of a northern knight would be Ser Jorah Mormont from House Mormont housed on the bear island which is a northern country. So alator having a knight from the north will work just know that he will be more humble and more reserved about that kind of thing because people there don't really see it as a big deal.

I have made a description of my house, this is how it is (so far I will edit it if you dont like a part of it, I am not an expert on GoT so sorry If I have made it unrealistic and Lore-breaking.)

Name: Skywood

Sworn too: House Arryn

Home: Windhill, Windhill consists of the Town Windhill and Castle Skywood. Castle Skywood is a white castle located on a mountain-side, Windhill lies below the castle at the coast. Windhill is below the Island at the middle of the three sisters at the coast of the Vale. Castle Skywood is the seat of Lord Skywood.

Sigil: A flying White eagle with golden edges on a blue field.

Words: ”Free as the sky”

Land: House Skywood own the land at the coast of the Vale below the three sisters and a part to the south in the mountains.

Family:

Lord Arwyn Skywood: Lord of the house, 35 years old.

Lady Lyanne Skywood of house Stoneriver: Arwyn's wife, 33 years old.

Their son: Jon Skywood heir to Windhill, 15 years old

Their Daughter: Joanne Skywood, 13 years old.

Ser Rickard Skywood: Arwyn's brother and Knight commander of the forces of Windhill, 29 years old.

[Argeon Skywood] former lord of the house, father of Agryn and Rickard. Died fifteen years ago in an attack by the Stone Crows when he were on the road heading for the Eyrie in a diplomatic mission.

[Myna Skywood] former lady of the house. Died fifteen years togheter with Argeon in an Ambush made by the Stone Crow Clansmen.

History: House Skywood were founded by the Andals who settled in what was going to be Windhill six thousand years ago. They were independent from any other house for a long time and thereby their words were created, but they have sworn loyalty to the House Arryn and served them for millennia.

Geography: Their lands are the northern coast of the Vale below the three sisters with a few miles more to the east and west and but from north to south they only have about half of its length than what they have east to the west , Their lands consists of mountains, the coast who are mostly inhabitated by small fishing villages and plains and hills who are home to several smaller communities who lives on farming.

House name: Ilesworth.

sworn to House Tully

Home: the Westerlands

Family:
Father: Lord Brandon Ilesworth of House Lannister, 89
Mother: Lady Joceline Ilesworth, 93 (To preserve the dignity of the House inspite of her husbands loyalty to the Lannisters)
Son: <Seth Ilesworth>, 42 (To take over the iron islands)
Stepdaughter: Samantha Ilesworth of House Brax, 31 (To join the Night's Watch)
Son: Miles Ilesworth, 17
Grandson: <Noah Ilesworth>, 27 (To become a warlock)
history: THe house was founded by Outsiders who made their way into Westeros. Their decendents married into House Lannister but were seen as illegitamite due to their heritage, so a new House was founded as House Ilesworth under Terrance Ilesworth, Brandon's great great grandfather. They swore to house Tully in order to gain a sort of acreditation among Westoros. Brandon continues to hold loyalty to house Lannister. Because they try to promote independence, they are often seen as hypocrates for bowing down to House Lannister, much to the shame of other members of the family, especially Miles and Lady Joceline. To his day the House has an open door policy for Outsiders seeking asylum.

This is good, but we'll be RPing about five years before the War of Five kings so there's no need to mention what will happen to them, like the Brotherhood without Banners although I like the detail you went into with them. Could you put the characters who won't be in Kings Landing in closed brackets? It just helps when I'm writing them down. Well, copy and pasting them down...

But I'm very impressed with the detail and thought gone into these. Even if the RP dies quickly I've enjoyed reading the family history.
