I'd like to join The Night's Watch. It sure beats going to Kings Landing and getting a dagger in the eye ... I'm just saying.

Haha, that took me a moment to get...

But everyone's already made their families. That's not to say we couldn't do the Riverlands or another scenario. If everyone says which scenario they want to do below that would be great.

Oh, and does everyone have ambitions for their characters? I thought it would just help flesh out and provide a purpose for the characters. I've decided it will be a tournament celebrating Tommen "Baratheon"s birth, some seven years before the events of Book/ Series one.

Hey depending on when this starts up I actually may be able to join. For example if I have like a week to get ready for this then I think I can actually take part because by that point I will be done with most of the stuff I am working on on here which frees up some time. Plus I put in some major work on my personal stories and with that progress being made I will have some more free time as well. Anyways I will get a rough idea of the family their motto their sigil their ambitions and so on of course if I am still able to join.

I still go for King's Landing it may be combat light in some ways, but it fits with the political intrigue and could make for some really interesting moments.

Kings Landing.

Ok, here is my house.... (Ok, so what if the house words are really uncreative... :P)
________________________
House Anderll of Dorne

Sigil: A white eagle backed by orange

Words: Fire and vengeance

(Oberyn Anderll - Lord Anderll, age 48: To seal as many alliances with the more powerful houses and strengthen the bond between the already allied ones.)

Wife: Asha Anderll, age 40: To gain more land and power

Daughter:
Nymeria Sand, age 16: To move away from her family and raise herself to power

Brothers:
Daemon Anderll, age 46: To protect his brother (Oberyn)

Sister:
Elia Anderll, age 40: To gain power in the South

Land: Their lands consist of the area around their castle, Sandwood. They own all the farms that surround the castle and town, about twenty of them, growing food and livestock. Sandwood was built in the east of Dorne, and is a mile upriver from where the Vaith meets the Greenblood. As it is situated next to a river the lands are fertile, providing a good supply of money and food, with no lack of water in the city.

History: A minor house in Dorne, the Anderll family is descended from the Rhoynar and have lived in the lands they own since their ancestors settled there. They have alliances with the Martells, ties within the Iron Isles, the Vale and the North. In Robert's Rebellion they supported the Targaryens, losing most of their men in general and a quarter of their men at the Battle of the Trident. The town of Sandwood was built around a hundred years after the actual castle was built, and the farms even later. They were a fighting family, mostly relying on plundering and trading to get food, and have only recently dropped their ways, though kept up the high standard in fighting for their children. In the conquest of Dorne by Daemon Targaryen they helped gain back Dorne when Daeron was killed, earning themselves more land.

Nonono yours was better with more detailed lore. But I guess we shouldnt fill this thread with an arguement about who made the best house :P

Well, I'll try not to be offended...

But I'll be changing my character to an Ironborn male line that married into a Northern lord's family. So if @Miasmador wants to have lands in the Iron Islands, nearing in mind alliances are strictly forbidden with mainland houses, then she can. I'll stick with the same family, though I'll change the history.

This depends on whether I will have internet in the next week. I doubt it. Honestly, this is much later than I originally planned. There was a long time when I had nothing planned but now everything is coming at once. I'm not sure whether Maxx or Jory are going to be in it, so I still need their families. Either way, I'm fairly unsure...

do we have to make an entirely new house?

I'll be a northern cavalryman (knight) formerly in the service of the Mormonts of the Bear island or the house Umber, now living as a poor hedge knight.

I don't mind if my character ends up being killed off...

Well, if you really want to just have one character, you could always be in service to my family.

Oh, I should probably raise the point that I like to do things by the book. And that means A Song of Ice and Fire books. IN other words: if at least one of your characters isn't dead by the end of this, then you're not trying hard enough. Bearing in mind, I don't want any complaints about characters killing other characters. If someone does it unrealistically, then I'll rule against it.

BUT PEOPLE MUST DIE!!! Don't worry, I'll be killing mine off as well

i'll think about it. does your house have any rivals?

quick draft of my character
name: Karl Roche
alias: 'Roach'
sigil: white lighthouse on a green background
rival: Ironborn, Grown up fighting them off
profession: Hedge Knight, Highwayman, sellsword

has a party of bandits that he will use as squires in the tournament

house roche is a new house, with a brief existence
- father was a landed knight granted land on cape kraken (subject to change) after participating in the greyjoys rebellion
- coast is really rocky land inland was mostly farm land constantly raided by the Ironborn
- keep is a fortified lighthouse
- father and sisters killed, Karl flees, land torched
