The always-on DRM killed it for me. Maxis can talk bollocks as much as they want about how it makes for a "better experience" and how solo Sim-city is a "lonely" experience. Always on-DRM is never good. If my internet is dead, I'm left without the ability to play my game even in singleplayer. If the authentification servers go down, thousands of people are left unable to play. This isnt a consumer-friendly business practice as Diablo 3 sold, and as far as I'm concerned, always-on DRM is enough to kill any game for me.

Oh wait it's DRM? Pass, I'll play one of the older ones.

Yep, always-on DRM. Always lots of fun when you have an internet connection that cuts out a lot like mine.

This one will have to say no, for the exact reason @Robbio stated in his post...
For a MMO it is normal to be online always, for a game that this one wants to enjoy in single player, it is a big nono...

Va Khaj Dar, To be Desert Thief, is not only our name.
It is also our way of life.

Maxis, meet Blizzard and his friend Diablo 3. They had the same problem you did, and it caused an utter bollocking as a result. I recommend some antibiotics and a swift purging of whoever decided on always-online DRM
(which in reality was probably EA)
