I wanted to bring up the topic of sneaking. I know sneaking will be in the game but I am wondering if invested into by a stealthy player will this in the long run make you 100% invisible (aka WoW) I am not sure if they talked about this yet but wanted to see if anyone knew. How stealth would work in the game for stealth focused characters.

Stealth is artificial stealth, meaning you will be completely invisible. The detection is ruled by an artificial meter called "detection range" when stealthed character enters this range, he will be shown as faded, crouching character.

Ahh yes very important indeed, so lets go over what we know about subject. We know that sneaking will be based on line of sight because lightlevel would be impossible. So we can assume that since every class can sneak it is varying visibility most likely influenced by factors like perks, armor enchantments and things like bushes

Yes, you technically will be 100% invisible, assuming u stay out of line of sight and detection range; but I highly doubt they will have any kind of system that allows one to open attack from stealth, vanish, open again, etc. I assume it will be more akin to staying stealthed while picking off the weaker targets or using stealth as an opening attack for the multiplied damage. It is plausible, however, that they impliment some kind of Nightblade abilities which get you out of melee range quickly so you can escape battle and enter the shadows again, but nothing like a rogue from WoW (hopefully!)

From what we know you can stay stealthed but it drains stamina.

many things will effect it like the sneak skill tree and using medium armor.
Now this just speculation but i would guess that if you were to highly focus on Sneaking there might be a perk if you go all out in the sneak tree that lets you stay stealthed without draining any stamina. but by going for that perk you probably sacrifice not being able to perk for other things.

This would not suprise me because the PVP DEV Brian Wheeler wants to bring back the stealth game that DAOC had. In DAOC assassin classes and archer classes and even the wild card Minstrel class could stealth and stay stealthed along as they wanted. Until they attacked or took damage. and they had to be out of combat for 10 seconds before stealthing again

i'm hopeing it's gonna be where the detection thing and line of sight, but you can run faster then heavily armored folks. so you can run away and break line of sight, then sneak again and attack again. like how real stealth is.

I hope I can cast spells on myself that helps mitigate "detection range"

so basically, its gonna be useless in pvp. great.

unless this detection range only works for your simulated "vision" radious, which doesnt include your back side.
