Throughout the past couple weeks, people have been discussing guilds. Guild this, guild that. Since we don't speak much of the solo players, I want anyone out there who is planning to play solo to speak up. I'm giving you this thread to discuss anything having to do with playing solo. Hopefully the admins will find this helpful.

Let yourselves be heard!!!

Im really hoping for a solid leveling experience, to get the ES feel, by myself or with people, id hope that its good to do alone, none of that 'Group quests must be done as a group or you die' thing

There's a ton of great games if you want to play a Singleplayer TES games (weird, I know). You might want to check out Morrowind, Oblivion, or Skyrim. They're great games, and they capture the essence of playing a TES game alone, without other people.

I have put many hours of solo play in Age of Conan and hoping to do the same in ESO, but this time balenced with Guild priorities. What I like the most about playing solo is freedom and the difficult challenges one has to face when against multiple enemies. A big chunk of my time spent is exploring and observing. No rock gets left unturned.

I know about them. What I am saying is people who wish to play TESO without being part of a group or guild.

It's "interesting" how people always try to imply there is something wrong with solo players...in this case even coming all the way into a thread titled "Solo Players Thread" (ie a hangout for solo players) just to harass solo players and do that implication of flaw thing.

It's clear the above poster is not asking why people like to play solo - he is implying a solo player is doing it wrong.

Some players like to play solo to get all the loot; to challenge themselves because solo play is much harder than grouping and relying on other people; maybe because they have limited time and cannot wait for other players to form groups; to enjoy the game at their own pace; and to avoid having to engage with random assholes.

I'm going to play some solo for sure, but I'm going to have some company too...however I'm satisfied with both options ^^

Playing solo in a multiplayer game is both ironic and counter-intuitive. If you want a single player experience, play a single player game

You know, being social is more than just gathering loot with others - you can actually chat with people in MMOs when you're not expecting anything from them (you should try it!), and that's being a hell of a lot more social than the kinds of things that happen in pugs (roll NEED on everything ---> "n00b your gear sucks" /boot and whatnot).

What you're trying to do here is tell people they are only valid in an MMORPG if they gather loot with others.

Solo players can chat, sell things to other people, craft things for other people, socialise, all sorts of things that require other real people. Plus they also contribute to the human background of the game - without people running about the game feels empty (and AI just doesn't give as good random as real people give)...also more people actually solo than group in games, so ironically what you're wanting is to kick all the solo players which will make the game empty out horribly.

What I'm trying to do here is figure out why you would play an MMO to be solo.

@Knightmare I look forward to the solo. For one, it is supposed to be massively expansive, making Skyrim look tiny. Think about it... all of Tamriel to explore... and not to mention the ability to play 9 times and have a different campaign each time.

YOUR ARGUMENT IS INVALID.

MMO games are social in nature. They're designed to be played with other people. That's the whole point.

And I explained very clearly how a solo player is social in an MMO. You should try reading (communicating properly is being social, yes even in forums!).
