Sorcerer/Healer build?

I'm waiting for a BETA invite, but since the NDA has been lifted, I'd love to hear some feedback about classes and specifically healing.

I've traditionally played a healer in MMO's, but because I am the single mom of a 7 year old, (who has frequent nightmares and trips to the bathroom and requests for glasses of water) I'm afraid I'll have more quick AFK's than in my more serious gaming days. This will be my first game without a pause button since becoming a mom. So I can't be the primary healer that everyone is depending on. But I'm still drawn to healing.

I really like the idea of a sorcerer/healer/alchemist. I'd love to build up the conjecture skills and have pets around, and have roots and stuns, for when I'm out gathering alchemy ingredients. In groups, I'd like to play a back up healer, focusing on HOTS and debuffs and roots and stuns. In other words, a real solid support position.

Probably play a Breton.

For those of you in BETA, does this seem like a viable build?

Also, can you have pets out and do debuffs or roots WHILE you are casting HOTS? And can I just send a pet out after some small wolves or rats or whatever, toss on some DOTS and go back to gathering? Or is it one cast at a time?

I know that we are limited to 6 active spells at a time, and that we can have different builds for different situations.

Or would it be safer to just go Templar, not have pets, wear more serious armor, and have the special heals and more solid attacks?

Any feedback from folks in BETA, now that the NDA has been lifted, would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks!

But then again, I'm kind of a noob anyways, so maybe I was doing it all wrong.

just want to address this misconception, NDA has NOT been lifted. The media outlets that have shared beta footage and info have done so with the express permission of ZOS. NDA is still in effect.

Thanks for your reply.

Is there a way to save your various "builds" so that when you join a group, you just switch to your healing build? What you are describing sounds like a more cumbersome process.

Are there real advantages to the Templar healing line? Or if you have a healing staff, is there a way to put skill points into the healing that you do with the staff?

I'd like to do a real mana-heavy character. Which is one of the reasons that the sorcerer line appeals to me. I won't put many points into nukes.

Just enough attacks to be safe when I'm soloing. I am thinking of putting points into healing, pets and debuffing.

How high have you gotten with your Templar?

Thank you Do'Rakk. I misunderstood. Obviously, I am hungry for information, but I am not asking anyone to break the NDA.
