Aldmeri Dominion (Khajiit)
Well the title does most of the explaining.

This RP would take place in the fourth era during the period of the war of succession. It will start at around the time of the Markarth incident just before Ulfric and his militia take back the city and end in 4E 201 with the victory of either the empire or the stormcloaks.

In this RP the characters start off as basic soldiers that can rise through the ranks of one of four factions:

-The Thalmor.

-The Forsworn.

-The Empire

The Stormcloaks.

Needless to say this RP will take place in only Skyrim.

This RP will restrict the race of your character. Only Dominion races (Altmer, Bosmer and Khajiit) can join the Thalmor, only Reachmen (and maybe Orcs) can join the Forsworn, only Nords can join the Stormcloaks and the empire can only be joined by Orcs, Nords, Imperials and Bretons.

The dragonborn will not be seen in this, for the purposes of this RP we will assume the dragonborn played no part in the civil war. If the dragonborn is seen (which would be extremely unlikely) it would only be during points in the Skyrim storyline such as Helgen and maybe one or two other points such as when Ulfric and Tullius are summoned to high Hrothgar and such. In the event of that the dragonborn will be identical the the classic Skyrim Dragonborn (wearing the iconic iron helmet and such).

The outcome of the war will be decided by the events that unfold in this RP.

FACTION DETAILS

-The Forsworn

In the Forsworn ranks will be determined by the amount of Nords you have killed, be they travellers, soldiers, villagers, it doesn't matter.

The Forsworn ranks are as follows:

-Grunt (probationary rank/default starting rank for new members).
-Witch man (5 Nords killed).
-Killer (10 Nords killed).
-Pillager (15 Nords killed).
-Ravager (20 Nords killed).
-Berserker (25 Nords killed).
-Chieftan/Shaman (30 Nords killed, second in command of a base. Shamans are only mages).

There are several different classes of Forsworn as well:

-Savage: Dual wields weapons.
-Barbarian: Carries a two-handed weapon.
-Warlock: Wields magic.

Both the Savage and Barbarian classes can use bows and magic (the warlock is magic oriented primarily, savages and barbarians can both use magic but not to the effect of warlocks).

The rank of Briarheart is given after being either chosen by the Hagravens or by completing a task given by either a current Briarheart or Hagraven and having obtained a minimum rank of Ravager.

There are also Forsworn sleeper agents inside the Nordic settlements but they have no ranks or classes and are hand picked by a briarheart.

-The Stormcloaks

In the Stormcloaks ranks are determined by ones honour and courage on the battlefield and acts of valour (for example saving a comrade's life).

The Stormcloak ranks are as follows:

-Unblooded (probationary rank/default starting rank).
-Shield brother/sister.
-Ulfsark.
-Woad warrior (named after the dye adorning the fabric of their armour).
-Hersir.

To obtain the rank of Hersir one must first obtain the rank of at least Ulfsark and show competence leading men in battle.

-The Empire

To advance in rank in the Empire one must show courage on the battlefield, selflessness for others, the ability to work with others as a unit and the ability to adapt and follow orders. Positions of command (primarily for legate) are given once one has shown skill as a tactician/leader.

The Imperial ranks are as follows:

-Auxiliary (probationary rank).
-Legionnaire.
-Centurion.
-Prefect.
-Tribune.
-Legate.

There are both legionnaires which are solely warriors and battlemages which harness both magic and melee combat skills.

Additionally, an Imperial soldier may apply to become a member of the Penitus Oculatus after becoming a Centurion or higher rank. While there are no ranks for the Penitus Oculatus agents of the order have authority equal to a Tribune and are often tasked with more subtle and discreet missions.

-The Thalmor

In order to advance in rank in the Thalmor one must complete a test assigned by ones commander that will determine ones qualification for the next rank.

The Ranks are as follows:

-Justiciar.
-Inquisitor.
-Marshal.
-High Justiciar.
-Grand Inquisitor.
-Inspector.
-Grand Marshal.

It should be noted that the Thalmor are more agents rather than soldiers, Aldmeri Dominion troops are their foot soldiers. That is not to say that Thalmor do not have command on the battlefield.

Quite a nice idea!
If I were to join, it would likely be the Thalmor...

Why thank you.

Yeah I'd either be an Altmer in the Thalmor as a justicar or a Forsworn.

Forsworn would be...interesting...
And I shall ask, are the Thalmor and the empire the usual "allies?"

The Thalmor and Empire have the same disposition as during Skyrim (the game).

Also I will serve as a sort of RP god creating events like perhaps a Dunmer revolt in Windhelm or a major Forsworn siege on the Reach.

Another thing is that the events of Dawnguard and Dragonborn won't be in this RP, we'll assume they take place several years/months after the end of the war.

Ah okay, so not friendly not enemies, its more that the legion accept the Thalmor because of the concordat.

And a siege, or revolt would be interesting.

On which side? I don't need an immediate reply but I'd like to know sooner rather than later.

I'm thinking (if possible) a member of a Forworn group that is "friendly" with the Thalmor.

You have to pick from the four factions listed and the Forsworn aren't friendly with the Thalmor.

By friendly I mean scared and intimidated by the Thalmor into doing the Thalmor's bidding.

That wouldn't happen.
The stormcloacks and the Forsworn MIGHT possibly have some slight friendship.
And the Thalmor are with the empire.

Yeah that would never happen, the Forsworn don't have any interactions with the Thalmor and the Thalmor couldn't give a damn about the Forsworn.

Also Ragnar what are you thinking? the Forsworn hate the Stormcloaks above all else. It was Ulfric that retook the reach from them and his army is all Nords.

More or less.

So Ri you might want to rethink your character so he/she is lore/logically appropriate.

Also fairly needless to say that the equipment for your char is predetermined with the exceptions being in the empire choosing the heavy, medium or light variant of armour and in the stormcloaks and Thalmor choosing which weapons you want.

I'm also considering allowing more than one character per person for this but I have not yet reached a decision.
