First part of The Mad Wolf

He Is Coming,
They say I'm mad, the city folk do, they say I am MAD. How dare they, I'm not mad, all I do is howl at the moon in my human form, so what? They don't call me mad when I howl at the moon in my other form, not that I have one... But I will! Oh I will. One day I will kill them all for calling me mad, eat them all. And when the are in my stomach, they will be sorry, all those fine folk of Falkreath. ME? I say to them. I AM MAD? And then I laugh at them all, and pick up the nearest chicken. I eat it, it doesn't taste nice but I eat it. And the children are screaming and hiding in their mothers skirts, weeping salty tears down their little fragile faces. And as the guards drag me away I call to them, laughing. I WILL EAT YOU ALL! I AM A WOLF. I AM NOT MAD. And I laugh more. I sit in my cell for days and days and days, just for eating a chicken! I can't see what the difference is, eating a chicken live as it squawks, and eating it roasted, sitting lifeless on a plate. I scream at those fine folk when they come to look at me, to whisper and point. I tell them I will eat them all one day, when I am ready. And then they go away and tell their children that I am dangerous and I let them. I LET THEM tell their precious sweetlings that I will eat them all one day, though I know they don't say that. Me? MAD! NEVER. I will never be mad. And I look out of my window slit and howl at the moon. I claw at the walls and after a month they let me out. My beard has covered most my face and I crouch in the shadows and growl and snarl and howl. THEY SAY I'M MAD.

Morndas 1st, 2E 581, Sun's Dawn,
We had to arrest Thiron Arnst today, for eating a chicken. By the eight, it was still alive as he ate it. The villagers call him the Mad Wolf, he howls at the moon and says he'll eat all of them. We laugh and shake it off, but he is dangerous, and mad. The chicken blood ran down his face and by the time we got hold of him half of the poor creature had gone down his throat. The smaller children were terrified and the older children stood and muttered among themselves. We had to keep him in his cell for a month and eventually the other guards had to come up with something to entertain themselves. Every night they would collect chicken bones and throw them into his cell and the Mad Wolf would eat them, every last one of them. In my opinion we should put him down, like we would a wild wolf for he is truly wild, and raving mad. Finally we had to let him out and wait for the next thing to happen but he just sat in the shadows and growled and snarled and howled. We were about to seize him again but before we could catch him he ran out of the village. I don't dare take the watch on my own, he is dangerous and now he is free. He could be anywhere out there, we hear him howling at night, sometimes it is distant but once he was in the village. What made it... creepy... was that no-one could find him yet we could hear him howling in the village. I don't feel safe anymore and neither does the rest of the village. We will see what happens.

I will be doing more of these, making it into a continuing thing. It is probably rubbish and I don't expect anyone to reply to this story, I'm mostly doing this to entertain myself :P. But feel free to read this. Will do one every day, every two days.

Second part of The Mad Wolf

He is near,
I feel closer now... so much closer to him. I laugh and laugh and laugh and howl and listen and run and eat and sleep. No, I never sleep, never ever never ever sleep. Instead I howl in the village, but they never find me, with their torches of fire, for I am not there! They used to call me MAD but they are the mad ones for they think I am mad but if I am not mad and they think I'm mad then they must be mad themselves. I laugh at that thought, laugh so hard tears fall from my human eyes. But wolves don't cry, or laugh, so I howl instead. I must prepare for him coming... Must prepare fast, very fast for he is knocking at the door and I am not yet ready, tea must be cooked and cake must be baked. I am not ready for him yet, but he is soooooooo impatient, he's knocking harder now, shouting at me to let him in. A storm is coming, ooooooh a bad one, oh yes, this storm will be the worst storm ever. I am the shadows, the lone wolf, so lonely, that howls at the shining moon on a brisk, cold night, never found, never trapped. Those fine folk of Falkreath hunt me you know, they hunt me by day time and tremble in their beds by night, I can feel them trembling. Sometimes I watch them, in the day, I can see children whispering about me... And I scream at them. Their little faces are sooooo funny, I laugh and disappear and go behind them and scream so loud in their ears that I AM NOT MAD. And they scream back. Then the guards come, but I am too fast for them, fast as a wolf.

He is knocking at the door and I must prepare for him, for the storm, that he will bring with him.

Morndas 7th, 2E 581, Sun's Dawn
A week has passed since we let him out yet he still terrorises the children. No-one sleeps well at night and people are getting desperate, we have to catch him soon. We can hear him laughing and howling but we never see him, he seems to disappear when he comes into the village. We caught him screaming at the children that he isn't mad. Only the guards know, but, in his house we found countless bodies... Of half eaten children, faces frozen in expressions of fear. They were about two months dead, all of them, from before we put him in his cell. We don't know where he got them all from, but there are a lot of them, to many to count. All the guards have sworn to kill him on sight, no-one is joking about it anymore, this has become bad. Very bad. Finally someone had to find out, two children broke into his house for a joke, a day before we were going to clear the bodies out. The news got out, everyone knows. A gloom has fallen over Falkreath, adults keep their children inside, and stay inside themselves. Even the guards stay indoors, only the odd guard can be found wandering around Falkreath on his watch. We can sometimes hear him shouting and screaming, 'Wait, stop knocking, I am not ready yet.' And, 'He is here and with him comes a storm." And then he laughs. After a while the laughter fades away but it echoes around the valley, lingering for hours after, a madmans laugh. A mist has fallen over the village, its hard to see your hand in front of you, yet throughout the day it stays light. There is a rumbling overhead and despite being unable to see, we know dark clouds are gathering in the sky. The village is silent, a ghost village, all day round. A storm is coming to Falkreath.

Third part of The Mad Wolf

He has paused,
I moan and groan and sigh and growl. He has stopped, paused, abandoned me. He will come though, oh yes, him AND the storm. They. Will. Come. The mist, the eternal mist has come, his soft, cotton cloak has shrouded the valley, and best of all, the village. I MUST have offerings, I must eat, prepare, cook, bake, tidy. I must eat flesh. Soft child flesh, and their crunchy, fragile, juicy bones. I must eat. You see the meat will purify my lonely wolf soul and I. Will. Run. In my different form, at last. I laugh and laugh as I near the village and finally I howl. Howl and Howl and Howl. It is nearly a full moon, the very moon itself has halted in it's cycle, waiting for him. The moon is his EYE and when he comes it will open, open and spread clean light on this dirty, dirty world. Oh how it will. But then the storm, oh the storm the storm the storm will come and wash Nirn away. I laugh and laugh and scream and howl and walk through the mist, his soft cotton cloak. How I grasp at it and can already feel his magnificence. He has paused though, and the storm waits, the angry clouds hungry for the Fine Folk of Falkreath. I shout out, CANT YOU HEAR THE RUMBLING? THE CLOUDS ARE HUNGRY, HUNGRY FOR YOUR DEATH. And I laugh at them. I must eat, I must prepare.

Morndas 14th , 2E 581, Sun's Dawn,
It's been a week and the mist has not lifted, nor the silence. Now the only sounds are laughing, shouting, all the unearthly noises Thiron makes. And, most of all, the gentle weeping of Ari Carnit. It's reminder of the nightmare we are in, gentle but constant. She hasn't stopped since... By the eight, I never thought anything like THIS would happen. Orol Carnit, Ari's son disappeared. He went outside, the call of nature beckoning, and was taken. We didn't see Thiron - how could we with this damn mist - and by the lack of screaming neither did he, but the next day he was gone. That was on Tirdas and there has been no trace of him. No-one dares to go out, incase he is lurking in the mist. He could be in this very village right now. Damn this mist, and damn the advancing storm. It's going to be a big one. Not even the guards go out anymore and I am forced to stay inside with my terrified child like the rest of them. Soon we will run out of food, if this nightmare doesn't stop. I have started wondering. Is this real? Or am I simply trapped in a nightmare, will I wake up to a beautiful, normal day. I can hope, we all can.

Fourth part of The Mad Wolf

He is gone,
I scream and scream and weep. He has gone and the storm with him. I sob and scream and beat the wall 'til my hands are bloody. I eat and eat and eat the remainders of the child as my masters cloak is lifted from us. how I haaaaaaate him now, hate them ALL. No, he is not gone, only distracted... I must prepare, must prepare. The storm has gone but my tears are enough to bring it back. If I scream and shout for him loud enough he will hear... He HAS to hear me... I'm his servant... NO, slave. And I laugh at the mistake I just made there. And laugh and laugh and laugh and laugh until more tears are streaming down my face. Cold salty tears. Sometimes I wonder why they don't carve tracks down my face, like meltwater rivers from the mountains do to the snow. Nirn has a face you know, and men think they own it. But they don't, he does, it's HIS face. Not men's, not those other, false gods called 'The Eight'. He owns this face, this flesh and eyes and bones and teeth and hair. And I stuff mud and snow in my mouth, I can feel the worms and the other small critters there, creeping around in a panic to get out. And I swallow, to show my utter devotion. Then I grab more, my hand are sore and bleeding where the dirt had packed into the raw flesh where I had beat at Falkreath's walls till they were bloody. And I eat his flesh, and I eat and eat but HE doesn't mind. And then I plunge my hands into the snow and they sting and I roll and roll and roll with pain and laugh and cry for HE IS GONE. And so has the storm and his cloak. But he will come again... Oh yes he will.

Morndas 21st, 2E 581, Sun's Dawn,
The mist has gone, thank the eight. People go about their business as normal, slightly warily, for he is still out there, but things are back to normal! We enjoy sun and birds and fresh air. We can hear Thiron screaming that he, whoever he is, will come again, with the storm and his cloak. He always screamed about him, but never said his name, we can only hope he is talking about a human. Though the birds are back and the mist is gone, as well as those black clouds, there is a stillness to everything. Not a breath of wind is blowing through the village and there is a humid feel to the air, making it hard to work. We are harvesting our food and storing it, in case the mist comes back and we become trapped in our homes again. Even so the parents don't let the children out of their houses, scared that The Mad Wolf will take them and... I don't even want to write it down. So far things are back to normal, and I just hope it will stay like that.

This is really good! The reflection of the madness is brilliantly written, and his fanatic devotion to the unknown being is great!

A couple of things to consider though. While I know that he is insane and the sentence structure sin't going to be Etonian, there needs to be some form. There were a couple of times where it was just a list and you used 'and' too many times. Use the holy ';' instead, especially as the bad have no need for connectives.
His denial of the others' view of him is almost childlike (which is good) but there has to be a little bit more to him than that. Most madness comes from insecurity, so having him question his faith in himself an his deity would be interesting to see.

These are just pointers though. This really is very good Mias, I should start reading more of these in the library.

Also, put them in different threads. It keeps things simpler.

Thanks for the advice, will definitely take your advice into account and move a few of these to another thread... Yeah, I will probably build on something I put earlier... Or did I put that in a different version I didn't use... Oh well, I will build on Thiron and the guards history/why the Thiron was driven insane. Thanks again for the feedback Iogairn.
