We all know that there are million different ways to play Skyrim and hundreds of quests to do (or not do) any way you like, and they're all fun. However, I do feel like there's a way to play which best fits the theme and feel of the game.

(Note: Skyrim spoilers, although you've probably all played it already).

Said game features a brawny Nord hero (basically the dude from the trailer). He (could be she, but probably he) escapes Helgen with the Stormcloaks, does Bleak Falls Barrow, etc., and discovers his destiny as dragonborn.

He generally uses the warrior play style, running around with either a big greatsword or sword-and-board. Magic is used little to not at all, and sneaking isn't exactly his forte either.

After slaying a frost troll, meeting the greybeards, masquerading as a Thalmor, reestablishing the blades, learning dragonrend, favoring the Stormcloaks in the peace conference, refusing to slay Parthurnax, capturing a dragon, and doing a bajillion minor quests, it's off to Sovngarde to slay Alduin with his sword and shouts.

As for sidequests: He kills off the Dark Brotherhood. Thieves Guild is optional, being not really suited to his play style. If college of Winterhold is done, then he slices his way through with minimal magic. He joins the Stormcloaks, being drawn to Ulfric's nobility and the general "Rebels against the empire" deal.

Since he's a pretty heroic guy, he only obtains Daedric artifacts if he doesn't have to kill someone in the process. He probably joins the Companions, and then uses his werewolf abilities to royally thrash Lord Harkon and his ilk. Finally, he heads to Solstheim and kills Miraak.

Does this all sound about right? I'm not saying that it's the best way to play, but it does seem like the most "traditional" one.

(Oh, and he kills every Thalmor he meets on the road, as a rule.)

You mean the Thalmor capture him, and kill him for being a Talos worshipping freak?

I believe every TES game has a "prefered" way to play (For a more realistic and themed story), Nerevarine being a Dunmer Azura worshipper Redoran worrior, and the Hero of Kvatch being an Imperial Divine worshiper knight. I always believed that the main hero of every province should be of that race, I can hardly see an Altmer Dragonborn or a Redguard Nerevarine.

Just leave it.
It is all just goodhearted humour.
It is others that interpret it, as anything else than such.
