The ES series is fairly renown for its glitches both maddeningly annoying and enormously funny/weird.

This thread is for the latter, I don't want to see anyone post about how annoying it was blah blah blah.

Feel free to post away about some of the funniest/strangest moments or glitches in TES games, be it walking into a city covered with arrows or somehow losing your characters eyebrows (it's happened to me before, don't question it).

Well I was riding along the countryside of Whiterun (mountains really) on shadowmere. However he lost his footing much to my annoyance, however I think he achieved godhood somehow... as he was just floating in mid-air with my char still riding.

Long story short he became the one of the first horses to achieve godhood, or develop anti grav tech...

Lol that reminds me of a horse story I've got that's the complete opposite of that.

I had just completed the empire questline and defeated the Stormcloaks so I was essentially just running around looking for Stormcloak camps. I happened upon one such camp and slaughtered everyone there except the commander who's immortal so I stole one of the horses simply for the sake of stealing a horse and began running around on a stolen horse.

Well the horse happened upon the Karth river and fell off the dragon bridge while attempting to turn around part way across.

The horse hit the rocks at the bottom of the river and died on the spot but my character apparently got a spinal injury and became paralysed and simply floated down the river unable to move in the same position he was in when the horse crashed.

Half an hour later (RL time) my character washed up on the shore of the river somewhere and immediately became un-paralysed the second he touched shore as if nothing had happened.

I don't think having your legs making a near 180 degree line and having your head in a position that would only be possible with a broken neck is very relaxing...

I was just outside Whiterun in front of the stables and I saw a group of people. I walked up to the group and it turned out to be three clones of Louis Letrush. After staring at them in confusion for a moment, I decided they had to die. When I attacked them I expected to get a bounty, but instead the town guard decided to help me out, and together we slaughtered them.

Okay this just happened to me yesterday.

I was going through some of my old saves and I found a char that I had created several months ago then abandoned at level seventeen or so.

So I had picked up where I last left off which happened to be at an encounter with some hired thugs in Shor's stone.

Well eventually the thugs were all killed but when I went into third person there was something odd about the position of my characters head.

It was stuck in a "looking down" position as if he'd found something very interesting on the ground. I couldn't seem to find a way to fix it so my character just walked around with a seemingly eternally broken neck. Well eventually he stopped looking at the ground and his head was in a sort of "philosopher" type head position as if he was pondering something. His head continued shifting position but it never returned to its normal position.

Then his arms appeared to be dislocated, whenever he turned his arms would simply dangle and clip through his body. Ebentually his head returned to its normal position but then his hip apparently broke, there was a kind of crater in his side where his hip should be. That fixed itself in a few minutes but then the broken neck problem returned.

By then I had reached the city of Riften and entered the city still in third person.

What happened next is difficult to describe.

Well I originally thought that the game had somehow switched me back to first person because I couldn't see my character anywhere so I switched camera views several times but couldn't seem to find a body for my character, as if I was simply controlling a camera.

On the balcony to the left of when you enter the north gate I saw an... object, appear to be dancing crazily which I assumed to be a bucket at first (I've had bad experiences with buckets dancing)and continued to move my character, who I still could not see, forward to investigate the balcony.

Well as I approached the object stopped moving and part of it was hanging off the railing which I realized was a corpse. At first I assumed the corpse was Grelka because of the leather armour but then I recognized the face as male... and realized my character was male and wearing leather armour.

The corpse was that of my character.

I dragged the corpse of my character off the balcony where it hung suspended in the air with its feet touching the ground as if it was hanging from a noose. I eventually got over my initial reaction and tried to drop the corpse and move around the city as a disembodied ghost but I couldn't seem to drop the corpse and when I moved... so did the corpse.

I had apparently managed to bring myself back to life... with a broken neck still.

Some time later I exited a shop in third person to find that once again I had no body so I once again started the process of looking for my corpse while invisible.

Well the corpse could not be found but I did discover that while in third person I had no body at all. Which meant I could walk straight through people.

In first person though my character could not walk through people and would be greeted with the standard dialogue but in third person they wouldn't acknowledge my existence.

Taking advantage of this revelation I discovered, while my weapons were invisible and in-fact non-existent, I could still damage NPCs so I walked around the city and attacked all the pricks like Maven and her son that follows her all day then went into third person. The guards and the victims searched all over and even walked straight through me but couldn't find me.

To make a long story short I eventually got my body body back and was killed by the guards but when I re-spawned my character had no eyebrows and a different forehead which I am seemingly stuck with for the rest of the game.

This is possibly the most demonic Skyrim glitch I've ever heard of

Don't get me wrong, I was laughing my head off or simply completely miffed the entire two hours (RL time) the glitch lasted.

I'm rather freaked out about the fact that my character has no eyebrows and a different forehead. I literally walked around for half an hour after that asking myself "Who's forehead is this?"

Hey being a disembodied ghost is fun, you should try it.

But when I discovered my own character's body dangling from a balcony I was certainly... surprised, to say the least.

It's been several years but I think I remember in Oblivion I was walking around in the Imperial City and a guard just randomly fell through the ground, it was confusing and funny.

So today I was playing Skyrim and was using the Vampire lord ability. I had just recently changed into the Lord form to ward off some bandits. However when I changed back to a human, it kept the Vampire Lord's "Skin" but I was still counted as a normal person.
