The Final Chapter: Part 2

It took less than a second for Theodyne's eyes to adjust to the darkness. Being a werewolf seemed to have it's advantages at times. As Theodyne's gaze scanned the darkness he could see clear as day members of the Council of Arcanea moving through the chamber striking down the necromancers one by one as they went. The necromancers tried to fight back conjuring fireballs to light the darkness, but their efforts did very little as Alator had brewed a potion for each of his Council's brothers allowing them to see clearly in the darkness. As the blood was shed and the chaos ensued, Theodyne turned his attention to Mordynak who still remained lying on the concrete slab still bound at the wrists and ankles allowing him to join the fight. As he dropped his sword to the stone floor, it made a metallic clang so loud it could be heard clearly by everyone over the screams of the dying. He pulled a small dagger from his waist and cut the ties that bound Mordynak. As Mordynak rose to join the fight a gutteral laugh filled the chamber that chilled everyone to the bone and seemed to fill everyone with enough fear that they all stood still, some even pausing with their swords still inside their victims.

"You thought that you could escape me didn't you Theodyne?" said a voice so calmly that given the current situation made the question all the more terrifying.

Theodyne's eyes searched frantically for the source of the voice. He saw no one standing but his brothers from the Council.

"Did you think that your deception would go unnoticed?" the voice again posing questions but the source still remaining unseen.

Theodyne could feel his inner beast rising in him and it was all he could do to suppress it. His eyes already starting to turn into a reddish-yellow trimmed with black. He could hear Alator shouting to each member of the Council but his voice sounded like a distant echo bouncing off of a canyon's walls. His voice being drowned out by the sound of a whirling wind building inside the chamber.

"You cannot escape me anymore than you can escape your own fate." the ghostly voice intertwined with screams finding him once more. Each word as clear as the last as if they were whispered directly into his ear.

Theodyne closed his eyes and gripped his dagger firmly as he drug the blade firmly across the palm of his hand. He began to chant an incantation that Alator had not heard in well over 150 years. As he spoke the blood from his hand began to float upwards instead of dripping to the floor. The blood forming a doorway before him. He dropped the small blade and opened his eyes only to see himself facing a pair of eyes so ghostly blue they almost appeared to be made of flames. The creature standing before him clad in armor that appeared to be made of bone curled it's lips to reveal a bone chilling smile.

"NOW!" shouted Alator. Each member of The Council rushing the massive Daedra with swords raised. Mordynak leaping from the stone slab and raising Theodyne's sword swinging at the Daedra's throat.

The Daedra raised both arms and let loose an ear piercing shout that froze everyone in their place, Mordynak's swing of a sword only inches from the Daedra's throat. Each one frozen in place but all too well aware of what was happening around them.

The creature cocked his head to the side as if to study Theodyne with a kind of bewilderment that would come with discovering a new life form. The shout had not frozen Theodyne as it had the rest. But it did not matter.

"I can taste your soul even now." said the Daedra as he tilted his head back towards the ceiling drawing in breath through his nostrils.

"ENOUGH!" shouted Theodyne. The transformation no longer being able to be controlled. He dropped to his knees as he began to feel his blood boil, his muscles and skin growing and stretching. He could feel every bone in his body breaking and mending itself, shaping his body into the beast that dwells within him.
As he let loose a scream that filled the ears of everyone, the Daedra before him began to laugh with excitement as Theodyne writhed in pain as his body changed before him.

With the transformation complete, Theodyne, if you could call this beast by that name, rose to it's hind legs standing taller than everyone in the room including the massive Daedra. His bottom jaw hanging open revealing two sets of massive razor sharp teeth dripping with saliva that seemed to ooze from his mouth and drip to the floor. Jutting his head forward towards the Daedra he let loose an ear shattering roar.

The Daedra stepped forward still wearing his smile and spoke only two words.

"How frightening?"

Theodyne swung wildly with one of his large hands with knife-like claws and landed a blow across the Daedra's face. The strike only barely turning the large creature's head. The Daedra turned his faze back to Theodyne the smile now gone from his face. As he stepped closer he could feel Theodyne's hot breath on his withered face. He whispered only one sentence.

"And so it begins."

Great work again Theodyne! I am looking forward to see more of these, but I wonder, is it only Theodyne that can see the Daedra?

Well considering Mordynak took a swing at the Daedra's throat, Alator shouted "NOW!" and Theo said that they were all aware of what was happening while they were frozen in time I'd say it's a pretty good chance that they all saw the Daedra.
