I was sitting here reading various posts about lore and it got me thinking. What if Bethesda takes some of the lore made in TESO, and uses it in an expansion or even in their next ES game? Zenimax set TESO in the 2nd era because there is almost no lore involving this era since it was mostly destroyed in the war that toke place in that era. However who is to say that the Altmer don't have a few books stashed away in their collections that they won't tell the Humans about. Now what i was wondering is what are your thoughts are on this subject.

Personally i think it would be very interesting.

I am the shadow within a shadow. I will accept any job; however I will execute the target, or maybe even the person who hired me; it all depends on who has the most gold to give. Even then you can not trust me to let you walk away with your life.

I believe that it would be interesting as long as they do it properly. They could really go either way with it and it could either make the game really interesting, and guarantee that those who are playing TESO will buy and play their new ES title, or it could completely ruin the game.

And, we Altmer do have books that we do not tell the Humans about... ;)

Beyond seeing little easter eggs throughout the next Elder Scrolls title, I have little interest in seeing TESO dictate anything large within the lore. I'm kind of split down the middle on this though, so no preference.

Yea i was thinking of something along the line of lets says a misc. quest that goes as such.

While at an inn you hear about a historian who found a strange chest that can't be opened and is willing to give a reward to whoever helps him solve its mystery. When you go and talk to this historian he shows you the chest, which has some undecipherable writing on it, and tells you that he thinks a clue might be in the ruins that he found the chest in. While in the ruins you find a stone tablet with writing on it that appears to be of elvish origin. You take the tablet back to the historian. He reads the tablet out loud and you hear a click from the chest. He opens the chest and pulls out a rolled up sheet of paper. He carefully opens the paper and reads it. After he is finished he says "This is a great find indeed! It is the paper written by Queen Ayrenn to form the Aldmeri Dominion." He quickly gives you your reward and briskly walks away.

That was my line of thinking of course.

An interesting plot line to be sure. I think that if they would do it that way it wouldn't dictate a large section of the lore (and make it hard for TESO Devs to create new content).

TESO did placed/zones/locations shall be 100 % right from TES games and lores.

But we create new history line from E2 583, after we get three new faction leaders. Who become emperor? One of three faction players will take the crown...

So thus it is too early to tell us from TESO what happen after E2 583, but a thing is sure, we just stop undead armies and demons before they would conquer us and become slaves of them.

All true ... but not the point of this post at all Xoo. The point of this thread is to see if people would like to see lore from TESO go to an ES game (by Bethesda.)

im fairly sure itll happen. especialy ingame books. most ingame books from skyrim arent printed yet in TESO. and we cant all read the egg of time.

So id say quite a few of the historical accounts from TESO will be "rediscovered" in later TES games. However i doubt that "Emporer Fuckface" will make it into the history books...

Personally I'd like to think of TESO as a seperate plane. Thus avoiding possibly conflicts/restraints on either side. Like a parallel universe.

no, this has already been in WAR. id rather have them commit to their actions to force them to be reasonable.

also paralell universes are fun in TES anywhere... there is no canon. per se. Everything is canon, everything isnt. Love.

I assume that this game is completely canon. The lore is being developed in cooperation with BethSoft.

I see no reason why it shouldn't be mentioned/included in other games.

If *I* were doing TESO, I would change the game every year or so to be a slightly later (maybe 50 years or so) point during the Interregnum, with keeping just one instance of the old game for replayability.

I would then use the events of each period as lore for later games (including who was crowned Emperor, who defeated Molag Bal, etc).

But, that's just me, and assuming ofc that I had the resources at my disposal that Bethesda does.

well. wow is already doing that and i can see TESO going a different route! to the point that a Character starting out in WoW now, actually starts the game out at a different date than the ones starting in vanilla. its pretty sweet, its also highly confusing when you concider that you still can do the BC and WotlK zones dispite this canonically already had happened..

I don't see the relevance of this in this topic. Lets us wow for ex. In Wow there is a big new boss. A new warcraft game comes out and it has a little side deal about that boss. Not the other way around.
