I like the challenge of survival hardcore mode provides. It makes me reel more connected to the game environment and makes me feel more vulnerable and resourceful. I like having more things to worry about and mess with in games. That may sound silly and boring to add chores to the game but for me weakness and personal maintenance make me feel more like a person and less like some generic chosen one.

I know that parity will not allow an optional hardcore mode in eso. I still want it. Not only do I want the traditional fallout hardcore mode, but I think other bodily needs should be in there as well. I want to have to pee, poo, wash, treat infections, dieases, parasites, and possibly other more emotional needs. Perhaps there could be a happiness meter that could be effected by game activities like friendship, sex, intoxication, entertainment, and treating oneself to fancy food and drink. For me, a game like that would be fun.

Hardcore mode won't be in eso. And a lot of people probably think I should not be playing a game where being a mighty hero doing mighty things is really what it all boils down to. But I get bored with might and sometimes want it to be more about trying to build a fire to cook a skeever or waking up in ditch because I was drinking about my baby last night.

Real life is hardcore mode, play it.

Seriously though, maybe check out the game Don't Starve?

Although I think both games are still in beta, you could check out DayZ and Rust as well.

The fires burn. Our supplies are spent. Axes are dull, and armor is rent. The enemy approaches, our doom, they seek. We are Daggerfall Covenant. We are Orcs. Our comrades, they come, for glory they seek, at the side of our iron and steel. We will not fall.

You could always delete your character if you die thereby creating your desired hardcore mode without any changes necessary.

While I like and approve of your idea, I think he is wanting a degree of realism, that some games allow by having your character die if you don't eat or sleep enough. I remember in the old days of D&D style video games (I am looking at you Baldur's Gate II) if you did not rest, your character would suffer penalties, and eventually your party would abandon you or die from the increasing penalties.

Ahh, the joys of camping in the Troll infested swamps, and shade filled tombs never ceased!

Rust is the game for you. I've starved, frozen, been shot, eaten by animals, and just died in so many ways in that game.
