Undecided Race!?

Faction & Race:
Daggerfall Covenant (Breton)
It's getting way too far for me to have not definitively chosen a race yet!
I can't even solidly say which faction I'll be a part of.

I have it narrowed down to two races:
Breton or Khajiit.

I've always chosen khajiit in the past since I really like the quick sneaky assassin-like playstyle. However, I've been thinking more and more that I want to go the magic route for ESO, and a friend of mine is going Breton so I thought we might play together that way too.
This of course makes it very difficult to even start looking for guilds or getting to know members.

Any suggestions?
(Sadly, I can't do both...Just no time these days)
Is anyone else undecided?
What are your choices?

Flip a coin? Heads for Breton, tails for Khajiit.*

(If you don't like the result then you know you really want the other one, so it works either way. ;) )

*No pun intended. <_<

Mr. Kingdom Hearts I think your name is very unoriginal whatsoever.

Go Breton.

Well, Sunsets are a thing.

I've never played Kingdom Hearts.
I hear they use wonderful names.

Haha, I know exactly what you mean :P
Maybe I will if I can't decide soon.

Well, let me start first by saying that if your friend is one of those buddies you just can't play without.. just roll his faction. It'll be infinitely harder to make someone who caps a character move over factions just to play with you. Experience speaks for itself.

Also, I'm pretty sure that races won't actually have stat modifier racial abilities. I'm guessing more or less a race-perk system, that will just be a "fun" element. Knowing MMO games, they'll give you a reason to play every race. So, I wouldn't worry about the stat part of the game quite yet.

The idea behind creating a character is simple. If you're anything like I am, no matter how "OP" a race/class/character is, I CANNOT play it, if it doesn't sit right with me. I'm extremely picky towards my character, they must fit a play style. You said you like the sneaky archetype, which can be both Khajit or Breton. Keep in mind, Khajit are lore wise the "fighter" based part of the Aldmeri Dominion, and the Breton are the "magic" based part of the DC. You'll be allowed to use a limited amount of weapon-based spells no matter what class, so if you just want to occasionally play with a fire staff, you can do that to throw fireballs.

I personally suggest you play Breton, since you already have a friend there. Yes, I'm an AD toon and I suggest that! You're much more likely to enjoy the game with a friend, especially since you'll be comfortable in a new setting to begin with. Plus, he can probably aid you in finding a good group of guys and gals to play with.

All in all, the choice is yours, and I hope you find the perfect character for yourself! Whatever race you pick, just remember there are plenty of guilds around for each faction, and we even have some exceptional guilds ran by the TESOF staff themselves.

Good luck with it mate :)

I'd say the best way to go if you're undecided is to go for a neutral race. At least from my experience it's easier to be happy with a neutral human looking race than an outlandish race you begin to regret choosing.

Go Breton with your friend, it's more fun to play mmo's with friends.

It wont matter what race you are since it's an mmo. All races will have the same effectiveness for any class. If they do decide to include these traits it would be a very minor boost. Also I agree with Velaskae MMO's are a lot more fun when you play with friends.

Happy to see it's between those two. We already have too many members in the pact!

Indeed you do...

I would say you should go for the Breton race, as

1. They're part of the Daggerfall Covenant, which is the most underpopulated faction

2. Half-Elfish

3. Usually you will stop playing on a non human looking character completely if you was torn between that race and another

4. I'm shamelessly advertising the Daggerfall Covenant

1. Breton
2. Breton
3. Breton
4. Dunmer
5. Breton
6. Not AD

Haha, wow.
Definitely one sided here.

I'll probably end up going Breton.
I'm so used to the races having an impact in the games that I kind of forget that it will be less or even minimally so in an MMO setting.

Okay, sounds like I'm almost 90% decided! :D
