Underwater ????

Will we see underwater gameplay in teso? We had it in morrowind cant remember other games..if i cant dive underwater my immersion will be broken. it opens the world up to heaps more content and if done right can be fun and rewarding.

Unfortunately, we won't be seeing the ability to swim underwater.
Considering we're going to be able to explore the continent of Tamriel which is about 8 times larger than Skyrim, I wouldn't be too upset that we can't go underwater with the fish!

We might have something that involves swimming underwater with quests though, who knows. Ultimately I think it may have to do with PvP as well, people lurking in the water to jump other players.

In a very early video I have seen a group of adventures jumping down a short cliff into a pond of water. In which they swam at the surface. And once I´ve read in an article something about the shortcut of swimming trough a river... which could be dangerous due to Dreugh. Better take the 5 min walk to the bridge. But that was last year and things changed. But It would break the TES feeling a bit if water was a barrier suddenly.

I never can figure our if that is true because Daggerfall is about 4000 times bigger than Skyrim in land mass if we look at the games.

Personally I do believe we will be able to swim under water. It has been in all the games to knowledge since Morrowind. And if you can't swim under water shame on them. I was looking forward to being able to search rivers, lakes, etc. for treasure, and maybe even find cities under water that are dungeons! And we all know that we want to go back and reminisce about getting the Fin Gleam.

Huge immersion breaker not being able to dive and swim through underwater caverns and find adventure even that shit game called gw2 had underwater exploration...argonians can breathe underwater why would they not include underwater exploration please zos the past three es title you could swim underwater there is no decent excuse to not integrate it into the mmorpg..i feel this if not implemented will become one of the many on the list of things that will hurt the game at launch. it is immersion breaking and is clearly lazy design to not have underwater exploration.

I haven't been able to find anything that confirms or denies that there is underwater exploration. I also wouldn't put much stock in things that people say are in the beta since it's still just early beta versions and it subject to a lot of change.

I'll be disappointed if I can't launch some basic attacks underwater. I don't want a full underwater system like GW2, because frankly I think that's silly.

But we should be able to dive down and explore sunken cities/ships. And when I'm down there, I'd better be able to kill the dreugh and slaughterfish.

Don't believe there will be anything underwater in this game. I suppose it's a bit disappointing seeing as there won't be any underwater treasure to be had. . on the other hand though - I fricken HATE underwater combat. So disorienting and jus .. EH it's just annoying if you ask me.

While sounding blatantly lacking now for us, no underwarter action doesn't mean we will miss it that much. Clever zone design will give us enough to explore.

There is no official word on this though. Swimming seems to be in.

It would be pretty ridiculous not to have swimming underwater, as Konahrik said, argonians power is they can breathe underwater. Also dreughs and slaughterfish would be pretty much pointless...

It just won't be TES if we can't be chewed on by slaughterfish. And I love it when a cave entrance is underwater. It would take a whole dimension away not to have underwater exploration, argonians swimming and wizards concocting underwater-breathing potions and amulets, etc.

This and it also brings tactics to pvp with waterside ambushes...pls Mr zos dont take the only thing argonians are good at away...

They probably aren't including underwater exploration because of how much they're already trying to chew on with the huge portion of Tamriel and all the dungeons already in there. It probably has a LOT more to do with time/resource constraints than them simply not wanting to include it. But yeah, even looking at it that way I'm still really disappointed in ZOS if this is the route they go.
