I havent seen anything about this yet but maybe I missed it. Has anyone heard/read if they're planning to include in-game voice communication?

I know most people use a 3rd party app for this, as do I. I have no problem with that, but wouldnt mind seeing a successful in-game one. Im just not sure it's worth the hassle that the in-game ones ussually end up being.

I don't use voice comm enough to know much about it, although my hubby does use it in many games. Probably most frequently I hear him talking on DDO. I do think it is easier when it is already a part of the game.

I get distracted easily when I'm fighting, that's why I don't like to listen to people when battling. I did in Shadowbane cause I was a healer and needed to know who needed help. I like it for just hanging around talking though.

TESO - - Multiplayer: "M'aiq does not know this word. You wish others to help you in your quest? Coward! If you must, search for the Argonian Im-Leet, or perhaps the big Nord, Rolf the Uber. They will certainly wish to join you." M'aiq the Liar.

"Va Khaj Dar - Khajiity's united? M'aiq will join!" M'aiq the Liar

Personally, I'll probably stick with my mumble server for my guild even if there is a voice chat system in the game. That way members can still talk to one another even if they're not online right at that moment.

The Obsidian Brotherhood
Ebonheart Pact ─ Casual to Moderate ─ North American.
Weekly Raids ─ Private Voice Chat ─ Council Leadership.
For the Brotherhood. For the Pact.

I'm a fan of 3rd party programs for voice chat. Personally, I've found them more reliable and yes, hanging out on voice chat without being logged in is a plus. However, I wouldn't complain about an in-game one. Being able to party with random people and easily communicating through an in-game voice chat would be a bonus. But more often than not, people will always have access to 3rd party servers for voice communication.

Third party just makes things easier on everyone, IMHO. Guild leaders don't have to manage a new system, and ZOS doesn't have to police a new avenue of communication.

Yea Iva always used 3rd party programs (well since theyve become available at least). I find them more reliable too, but there is something to be said for being able to group/voice chat with people outside of the guild, without having to give them your server info. Thats the main reason I like to see a workable in-game voice comm.

Regardless of which program you choose, I feel strongly that a voice comm program is essential to a successful "raiding" guild. You cant overstate how much it makes a difference in organizing/gathering the group, asking for quick help, coordinating pvp strategies, or just plain controlling the group in the heat of battle. Who of us hasnt at some time or another, wished they werent in the middle of typing when they came under attack? ( I used the term "raiding" as a generic term, so no flames for my choice of words plz hehe)

I'm for the concept, but unfortunately you always get some prat turn up and start blasting music and you cant block them because you are in the middle of a battle.. i think people would eventually either switch it off, or restrict it to team only, in which case, may as well use the standard voice programs.

If they can find a low maintenance way to manage it.. might be worth a go.
