Will there be a changing weather in TESO?
And will there be storms that will harm your character (like froze damage in a snow storm or reduced vision in a sand storm)

Im all for changing weather. This is pretty much a must have, and I think most games do this by deafult, even if its just adding in a light sprinkle once in awhile.

There can be weather that actually effects your characters unfortunately. It just wouldnt make since in the game. Adding in a snow storm that makes you take damage only ensures that players wont want to go into that area. And thats never something a developer wants to do. They wouldnt intentionally bar players from the content that they want them to see. Reduced vision though, is something that can and may actually be done. Alot of rain in some MMOs, especially those with day/night cycles already accomplishes this. Even if its not intended as such, lol. Im just confident in saying with 99% that there wont be any damaging effects to weather.

I vote for changing weather, this is what I am used to in online and single player games. I am not in favor of damaging weather. I once made a mod of Daedric armor peices that I gave body part animations to - so they were cool Daedric robots, sort of. I tried testing them in an area where a sandstorm suddenly came up and they stopped moving around and just kept holding their hands up to their eyes - like they were getting sand in them or couldn't see!! Stupid useless robots.

I agree that damaging weather is a game killer. If TES were going to make weather damaging, Skyrim might be nigh-on unplayable.

I'd love changing weather in zones. Damaging weather is meh, maybe a minor rebuff of some kind at best, but a constant hindrance to your character could negatively effect overall gameplay. I'd be pretty pissed if I was in combat and died due to poor weather conditions.

Most MMO's released in the past 5-6 years have changing weather, so it's rather safe to assume TESO will have it too. I sure hope it does, at least.

I really hope ESO has a dynamic weather system in place because it makes the game much more realistic. I don't think it needs to hinder gameplay except like in Skyrim where sometimes the blowing snow made it hard to see where you were going.

I love having a dynamic and realistic weather system. Really helps with realism and is just beautiful.

I don't really like the idea of the weather actually hurting you, but I think it would be kind of cool to have a debuff that could be nullified with certain items. i.e., if you are out in a blizzard you would get a slower stamina/health regen rate which could be prevented by wearing a cloak.

I personally would love to see small rebuffs like reduced vision/extra sneak in fog, rain or a sand storm.

I definitely want changing weather for sure, but also has some effects that aren't to out reasonable.

For example if it's raining it would be cool if you could actually see raindrops on your HUD or have reduced visibility of some kind, and if you were in a thunderstorm lets say some lightning just flashed in front of you, you should be temporarily blinded, kind of like a flash bang in FPS games. Lastly, lets say there's a hurricane or tornado going on near you, you should have some kind of pull towards the center of the hurricane/tornado making it slightly harder for all players to move around near the hurricane/tornado.

Only one to vote for the last option ><
I would love it if weather had some effect on your character. Just minor debuffs/buffs. Maybe rain slows, sunlight is anti-vampire (assuming they get bonuses as vampire beyond just story options), etc. Stuff that doesn't effect your in indoor dungeons but might in OWPvP.

yea id like to see minor debuffs/buffs maybe rain slows movement. wind changes movement speed pending if u are heading into it or with it would be great.

One thing I always loved about Morrowind was if you were in Ald'ruhn and a dust storm kicked up, your character and the other characters would put their hands in front of their eyes to shield themselves from the storm.

I really hope that not only do we have weather but that the NPC's react to it and make comments like they do the single player games.
