Werewolf Lore tie-in?

How will the werewolf power tie-in with the lore? As far as lore goes, werewolves are forced to transform once a month (in Skyrim it was a bit different since the Companions were more blessed than the normal werewolves or something along those lines). But it may not be fun for players (even some RPers might not enjoy it as much) to randomly transform, so what kind of Lore (if any) might TESO include to have players have more control over Lycanthropy?

And when it has gone past I will turn the inner eye to see its path. Where the fear has gone there will be nothing. Only I will remain.

What's the explanation for Morrowind werewolves? Because they transformed every night... Is there an explanation?

hmm I'm not sure. If so, then I guess we can just assume that it is by random chance that the werewolves of TESO can transform at will... (if they can, do we even know how it will work yet for TESO?)

When you transform into a werewolf/vampire, you change form and gain a new skill set (or quickbar) that substitutes your old one. As for when we transform I'm hoping we gain the ability to change voluntarily every fortnight. Hopefully...

fortnight as in two weeks? i think it would be interesting if we were able to transform once every month (in game, however long that is...) at night or something. For RP at least, but I also would like to transform more often, especially if it is really powerful...

Well, we know that Vampireism and Lycanthropy are diseases, the mutation of which can explain the variables in transformation, power, ect. Certainly, with vampires, the bloodlines seem to be different mutations that produce different affects, some can bare sunlight, others die at the slightest exposure. Some can blend in seamlessly with humans, others are easily distinguishable.

You get the point. So, Zenimax can simply say the dominant variation of the lycanthropic disease C. 2E 582 is one which does to force the carrier to transform.

There are different strains of the disease (werewolf, wereboar, etc.), which are then divided into even more strains. Basically, it's the developers' excuse for lycanthropy working differently in different games.

I think lycanthropy will be bestowed upon the player as a blessing from Hircine, so we'll be able to transform every X amount of time.

By arrow. By blade.
By tooth. By claw.
By shock. By frost. By flame.
The Aldmeri Dominion will dominate Tamriel.
Our enemies will fall until the Throne is ours.

I think this whole thing with werewolves will tie into the fighters guild quest line because I read somewhere that the Deadric artefacts will be got from this guild. This leads me to believe you almost exclusively meet the Deadric princes in this quest line as a result we may meet hircine so on and so forth. Now I can think of tons of ways the devs will try in the attempt to make it seem legit that transforming at will is legit and lore friendly. Now there aren't any cool down times in ESO which means none of the 'once every day' abilities. Instead being a werewolf will probably be a legendary ability that gets charged up each time you perform an actions and when you perform that action enough times you get the ability. The devs have announced legendary abilities already by the way.

I got a Cool way to execute it

When the player is offline , He turns into a werewolf , The werewolf is pretty powerful it goes around killing players (until a player gets it to 0 HP and then it goes back to being human) when the player logs back on he will be in a tottally different area with all of his items in his inventory , If they added that that would be just as good as the random event system from Guild Wars 2

No not necessarily I got from reading the prince and liked it. Great read. But you may indeed be correct, it would probably be in Medival Total War but I can't remember. Very good games I think.

would be fun, especially from a lore perspective. Though, it would kinda suck for the war effort. Just helped with a raid then log off. Oops all that hard work ruined because I just killed half of our team in time for the other alliance to catch up or something haha...

*I meant RP not Lore
