I thought the game looked pretty good for an MMO but the animations definitely needed a lot more work to make them look more smooth.

I agree. It was mostly the combat animations that looked incomplete to me. If they find a better way to do the horse animation that's fine with me, if not I can deal with it.

I also agree with the animations, the bow just looked terrible but of course they will fix it.

I remember beta footage of Skyrim at E3, the horse they had there was also quite messed up

Other than animations i'm loving the dungeons. Watching them battle their way through it made me remember how boring WoW is with your eyes fixed on your keyboard's number buttons, constantly spamming them having no fun at all.

Do not fully believe anything until you have seen it all for yourself...

I gotta say honestly the animations in skyrim were not really all that fluid and the horses always move very awkwardly so the whole them appearing out of thin air was my only complaint. Also some of the attack animations actually to me seem more fluid than some other TES games 50/50 on it and skryim which one is more fluid skyrim has more weight and impact, but almost all the animations are kind of static and ESO has a bit less static animations, but no connect.

I was a little disappointed. The quality seems low, ESO really looks like so many Korean MMOs. Only in so most contemporary MMOs your actions in combat and abilities have weight, and noticeably interact with enemies letting everyone know you just did something. I didn't get that impression.
That Wailing Caverns type dungeon wasn't very exciting either, and the sudden end with little payoff was just weird. I didn't even notice they were fighting a boss. It just took them a while to kill this thing, and it gave them blue colored items.
I'm a little worried, since there are many games out there already that do everything we were shown in that video, but better in every way.

I'd like to direct you all to IGN's take on ESO so far, http://ca.ign.com/articles/2013/08/06/th...l-you-want This seems to sum up a pro game journalist's views on it.

To me I believe it looked amazing. The graphics did seem good, fit to the environment that was being played in (a part of Morrowind). Combat seemed like it could use some polish for the animations but generally seemed like it was pretty robust. Smooth and fairly simple to understand but challenging enough should you not be careful.

Gotta remember he was only lvl 16ish so his arsonal of attacks would be limited. i need to take more looks of the footage i want to see if when he was using that multiple stab ability while moving i hope so..

I liked It and I agree completely with What maxxrocker said, The horse out of thin air was really disappointing, And the combat looks less static than Skyrim (more like morrwind) where you don't get a feet of the connect of your melee weapon.

I understand why they have done the horse outta thin air thing, Can't have thousands of horses following people, hard to rander, AI..etc, I think the horse they could solve with a simple early game quest where you receive a spell that you simply aim at the floor and the horse mirages out of thin air.... conjured.
The out of thin air gag, although seems logical, is just game breaking.
Apart from that I think it all went well. The draw distance is a bit low, It is what I expected from it though, combat and the AI looked decent, unfortunately we did not get to see the synergies really.

As i said before lvl 16 combat isnt highly advanced through a character build this means your abilitys are limited same goes for synergies. i took a look at the footage again and its confirmed you can be moving while using abilies.

I am actually a bit disappointed.

The combat looked clunky and chaotic, I've seen no greater strategy aside from autoattacking and spamming skills once their cooldowns are over. Animations- especially the bow ones- were painful to watch. Not to mention the blatant design laziness of horse appearing out of nowhere.

Apart from that, I quite liked character design and the fact they somehow managed to capture the TES3 feeling when designing Morrowind.

Still, I need to se more gameplay footage before my final descision.

Actually, there are no cooldowns.

I personally think the graphics and animations were great considering other MMOs. And to think that they've got months to go to improve...
