Daggerfall Covenant (Breton)
I made this thread so that i can get closer with my fellow TES fans, and as the title says 'I want to know about your characters name". I personally want to know this because, i find that the reason/story behind a name usually amuses me.

I'm planning to name my character "suny" (suprise, suprise).
WHY?: Becuase I am a very negative person. I also plan to make my charcter somewhat "evil" or "dark". Therefor making the name comeplteley and utterly ironic. And I LOVE THAT!

Your turn.

I'm not sharing my name (I will at release so you can all add me. I mean, if you want to.) But I'm thinking a cheesy chat up line, as my name. Or a deadly serious name. Hmm Decisions

It all depends on how you want to be known as. if you like to RP to go seriouse. If you just like playing the game with friends or cuasually I would suggest something stupid like PotatoBlaster3000. Or if you're like me and a name means something special to you then put some real thought into it. Then again, going with your own name and actually getting it would be epic.

I like lore friendly names, whether I RP or not. It makes me more attached.
Would you be more happy to see Strangiv Iron-Toe (Completely randomly made that up, *bows*), or PenguinBlaster2347 when your gonna play? Exactly. Not the last one if you like penguins. If you don't... bad example.
Anyway, I will call two characters Jo'Rakha (Khajiit mage, weird ik) and Lurks-In-Shadows (Argonian thief, classic).
Not sure what my DC character will be... it's really between Redguard and Orsimer, for a warrior. I'll need to see if I could make a flexible, light armor, dodgy warrior.

Good name, but with what we know you can only have one hyphen. So is good review that. Anyway, the argonian assassin is ok, but I fear that ALL argonian people go with that, it will be really bad.

Now for me, I don't share because, well, someone can stole my name.
The name itself is a strong one to pronunce (some "r" in the end) with a hyphen and a second part going in review, same sound that the first part but with some double vogal (argonians love it).
Now, if we really will need a surname, well, I will go get a title because Argonians don't have last names.
To a title, I dunno, probably something rellated with a shield and/or some slavery fight, becuase I will be something like a "spellsword", but my back story is incomplet right now...

ps: we already have a thread to it...

WAT.
That is really weird... I mean, almost all Cyrodillic Argonian names have 3 or 4 hyphens.
http://www.uesp.net/wiki/Lore:Argonian_Names
Look at the Cyrodillic names. And where is your source of that?

And for the assassins... that's kinda true, and kinda a problem, but it won't make me change my choice of being an assassin. I mean, if others are nord warriors, that doesn't mean I CAN'T be a nord warrior. Maybe some argonians will be men-at-arms, like, lightly armored and quick. Dodging around with light armor and dual weapons, or something. In the earlier games, argonians made pretty good berserkers (*cough* morrowind *cough*)
But yeah, what you have said is duly noted :D

Yeah, I know, it sucks!
But, is what we have right now, about the source, some articles here or there, but the best one to you see is that 20 min leak. In the character creation, look at the rules between the character and the menus.

Now, what the point of a game (principally a TES game) if you can't do what you want? Go have fun doing a argonian assassin or a nord warrior :)
In my case, I will do a medium armored (or heavy, but probably medium) sword and board char with some stealth specialization (and restoration to complete, some type of argonian spellsword).
The fact is, I don't like to see how people stereotype the races, TES isn't about it. You are what you want.
And in the argonian case, the stereotype is wrong, yes they are great assassins, but, in lore and previous gameplay they are warriors, like you said, they are great berserkes (in Arena and Daggerfall too, Oblivion fuck up it because they took all the good stuff that defined the Argonians, I want my spears back!)

I don't judge people how don't do it, who am I after all? But in a multiplayer game will be annoying if everyone do the same thing...

-snip of goodness-

Yeah... but really. It looks like argonians would be good assassins/sneaks as they are reptiles, and reptiles mainly do what to hunt? Camouflage, hide, and sneak attack.
If there's a big strong race, everyone will use it as a warrior. A thin one, maybe athletic or something.
Not saying I agree with it, but every race has its stereotypes. It would be awesome if they brought back spears in TES:6, and made Argonians have the bonuses be both warrior and thief, like a mixture of both. THAT is what I truly see argonians as: A mix of warrior and thief.
