What feature are you most looking forward to in ESO?

This game has a lot of features going for it. Between the action-oriented combat, synergy and ultimate, AI overhaul, weakening of the holy trinity, no questing hub, fully-voiced main quest, freedom to choose a weapon, public dungeons, and the fact that we are getting to see Tamriel in its entirety, ESO has a lot to offer.

The feature I'm personally looking forward to the most though will be the 3-faction RvR. This was the feature from day one that Matt Firor demanded be in ESO and I think it will ultimately be the major feature that sets it apart from most MMOs.

Most MMOs are primary PvE-driven experiences and their PvP really is nothing more than shallow e-sports. But with three factions vying for control over all of Cyrodiil and the Imperial Throne, the player-driven politics and the chaos that will ensue will likely be unforgettable.

RvR, obviously. Here's hoping they tie in PvE content into the RvR as well. Second is the setting and deep lore. Third, though this is just a little bit on the wishful thinking side, is a deeper crafting and economy system that in other MMOs. This, too, is a legacy they have to convert into mmorpg mechanics.

I'm really looking forward to the exploration aspects of the game, while tagging along with some of the people from here or the official forum. Getting to see the different provinces of Tamriel and doing quests sounds exciting. Whether or not RvR can be played on an even field between low- and high-leveled players, I'm likely going to sit out on that until I've "progressed" through the game quite a bit. Unless it's just too good to stay away from - I will try it out to see how it is.

RvR, huge exploration (esp if they give us a minimap, I've been craving one for Skyrim) and gameplay that rewards co-operation and strategy are all very awesome. Biggest thing for me though, as I've said before, is just the fact that I can finally play the support role I've always wanted in a TES game. Kinda unfeasible having Enchanting and Restoration as primary skills in a single-player game.

RvR and a good combat system. I want huge battles, i want to wade through their blood, cut my way through their guts.

I want to crush them, i want to drive them before me and i want to hear the lamentation of their women.

I want the best PvP expirience of them all, i want to enter the world as a conqurer, driving my foes before me with fire and steal, and seize the Throne for ME! For the glory of ME! I will make the Pact rise above the weaklings, i will drive my forces into Cyrodiil, driven by our hatred we will rape, pillage and burn till nothing remains.

In our savage fury we will crush two opposing forces at once, grinding them down till nothing remains but the guts we wipe from our swords.

And then i will ursurp the throne, sitting on it, bored, narrating a Schwartzenegger movie.

I know I have said this before but I am really looking forward to non-instanced dungeons. This will hopefully be extremely fun like it was in Everquest days.

From a TES-point of view, I'm looking forward to new lore, new lands and old faces (Vivec, you better kick ass).

From an MMO-point, I'm looking forward to having PvP at the core of the game, although I'm not a heavy PvP player myself. A good PvP system drives the whole game, because every other aspect of the game fuels the endeavour to win with your faction/guild. It gives meaning to your adventures in PvP, the acquisition of new gear, enhancing your abilities, and first of all, there'll be a load of money to be made from this war (I'm a gold-hoarder in MMOs, so what?).

Being a huge DAOC fan, the RvR is without a doubt my favorite feature of the game. Running just behind that would be the fact that (to my knowledge) they are really trying to focus more on player interaction and building a community of players within their servers. My biggest gripe with a lot of the recent MMOs has been the lack of interaction with other players. Simply clicking a button to get in line for an instanced dungeon with people across multiple servers really isn't all that great, especially when hardly anyone seems to want to talk. So, I'm definitely looking forward to being encouraged (pushed even, perhaps?) to interact with the fellow members of my own server, rather than meeting an endless sea of players whom I will never see again.

I am really excited that they are not making specific roles. I think this will allow a lot more freedom from picking a specific type of character and having to play a specific role to fit your guild and/or endgame

I'm looking forward to picking a class and working out my own way to play it, without being told "Nope you need to be a Necromancer to equip THIS dagger". I want permission to fuck up, and fuck up again, and again, until my build and playstyle are perfected and handcrafted to suit how I want to play, exactly how I want to play.

I then want to explore the world as part of these disasters, I want to walk into a dungeon, have my ass handed to me, rethink my setup, and then go in and walk to the treasure at the end upon a carpet of dead tossers. This way everything will have a story to me, I can come back to the Needname Barrow weeks later and think "I remember this corner, it's where I got trapped and died because I hadn't learned to <something> yet", or "When I first came here, I came with Bill and Ted and we had so much fun", I want that sort of freedom that I haven't felt since my days almost a decade ago in a very different game.

As an extension of exploring the world, I want to roleplay in it with people who I've made friends with along the way, and inhabit Tamriel in a way that I've always wanted to. Those three 'features' are what I eagerly look forward to in TESO.

These threads do seem similar. I am really looking forward to the Crafting/Foraging systems of ESO, now that they've said that crafting will be very important after launch.

I do alot of crafting in games - EQ2, LOTRO, none so much as my Armorer in SWG who just stayed on the ground and crafted armor and sold it. I truly almost tore my hair out when Star Wars Galaxies went down!! If I EVER find those hackers - they'll be walking around with my crafting tools clunking around in their you-know-where (derriere)!!!!

TESO - - Multiplayer: "M'aiq does not know this word. You wish others to help you in your quest? Coward! If you must, search for the Argonian Im-Leet, or perhaps the big Nord, Rolf the Uber. They will certainly wish to join you." M'aiq the Liar.

"Va Khaj Dar - Khajiity's united? M'aiq will join!" M'aiq the Liar
