What if Men were in the place of Mer. What if Talos was a Mer and Auri-El a Man? Would you still be a Man after what you did to the Mer? Would you show hate towards Man and go the Dominion side even though they are Elves?

Yes as no race deserves to be called up upon wars they didn't want like the war between the Atmorans and the Falmer. As if it were man that had provoked the elves then fair do but they didn't the Falmer provoked the Atmorans.

As such if any race was in the position of man I would help them not the 'ruling' races as the underdog don't deserve to be shoved around and blamed for wars they never wanted.

As all the wars that have been mer against man were through elves provoking men and not being able to stand up against the consequences like the war between the Atmorans (Nords) and the Falmer what caused it? Elves did during the ''night of tears'' and they couldn't stand up to it so they sought refuge with an event more maniacal race of mer than them selves that turned them into the beast we see them as. Also the Falmer started the war as man was beginning to surpass them culturally thus the elves jealousy caused the wars.

(sorry to rant on but I really hate elves but not Dunmer nor Bosmer as they seem to be the only elves that haven't provoked man into a war)

Actually I was wondering what you would think of Elves if Man were the one hating and the 'dominant race'. But your answer was amazing! I'm personally an Elf extremist! FOR MER KIND! BUAHAHAHA! <3

Yes in my answer I mentioned that I would hate man if it were vice- versa...I'm the singular Khajiit extremist FOR KHAJIIT KIND!.

It was my interpretation that they simply wanted the Eye of Magnus, believing the men were incapable of using properly. They didn't want it to fall into the wrong hands. The snuck into the city to get the eye, but they were caught. So yeah it may have been the Famler's fault, but they didn't intend from the beginning to kill off most of the nords there. Again, my interpretation of the story.

But I am an elf advocate

‎I must not fear. Fear is the mid-killer. Fear is the little-death that brings total annihilation. I will face my fear. I will permit it to pass over me and through me. And when it has gone past I will turn the inner eye to see its path. Where the fear has gone there will be nothing. Only I will remain.
