I'm just curious on who the Akaviri are what they look like. I know there is not much information on them as well.

i've always been confused by the akivir! in books there are i believe 4 races that makes them up, i can't remember there names but there are the 'Snow daemons', the monkey people, the tiger people where its been rumored that one of them has became a MASSIVE dragon and last;y the vampire snake people

where the confusion comes from is that when people think of akaviri they think of the snake people who have the top half human like and the bottom halve snake like. however when facing undead akaviri soilders in oblivion (the quest where you get the dranconious mad stone i think) they are skeletons with 2 legs. now this can be counter argued that seeing though you are facing this enemy once there is no point creating an entirely different model for them when you can reuse the skeleton asset.
But in skyrim, when you see aludins wall, the akaviri depicted there are very human like! the problem with this is, is that the books say that all the men where eaten long ago

Hopefully in the next Elder scrolls game we get more information on them. Or maybe, there will be more info on them in TESO, since the invasion wasn't that long ago

I don't think anyone really knows who the akaviri is. Here are a few theories

1. The Akaviri were nedic peoples that settled on the the land of akavir
2. The Akaviri were actually a race of snake-men who killed/ ate all the humans on akavir
3 The Akaviri were enslaved by the snake people and fought the wars for them
4.The Akaviri were in fact, Tsaesci (Snake people themselves.

They seem to mirror asian culture in weapons, and armor (?)

Well, Akavir is a continent far east of Tamriel, so everything that lives there is basically Akaviri;
We know there's the monkey-people, Khajiit-like tigers called Ka Po Tun and the snake-humanoids Tsaesci.
Humans lived in Akavir aswell, and in TES: Oblivion there was this one Akavir ghost who just looked kinda like a regular samurai...
The humans didn't live in Akavir long tho, and were completely wiped out.

the "akaviri" are no race.
There are many races in Akavir. among them Tsaesci, Ka Po Tun, Kamal and Tang Mo.

But those "races" are also Nations.
that means the men of Akavir are most likeley part of the Tsaesci nation.

the "Akaviri" that were part of the original Dragonguard (see alduins wall) were most likeley human akaviri.

But to say it with the words of MK: "Akavir is NEVER relevant, for anythign!"
And there lies some truth in that.
Akavir is the place thats "strange"
therfor we will NEVER see it. Its purpose is beeing a foil for Tamriel.
A place so alien that we can bareley imagine it.

And thats why it will never be relevant.

The emperor Uriel V invaded Akavir but everyone died there so no one can tell us how it is there. If i were a emperor i would make a trade agreement with akaviri nations. It would be highly beneficial for both sides. There would be an exchange of culture , knowledge and technology.

Honestly I keep thinking maybe they have some secret messed up plan because they have stated the Akaviri people went to war with one another but their ultimate goal of both sides is to conquer tamriel so hopefully they do something with that. That or do something with the recently silent thras and pynadonea. Also there is a book called the incident at ionith actually that describes a bit about akavir and its natives through the experiences of someoen with Uriel V.

the idea of the ultimate goal beeing to conquer tamriel is a highly biased view.
In fact we know of only 2 akaviri nations out of the lot who ever tried to conquer tamriel.
Nameley the Tsaesci and the Kamal.

The Ka po tun and tang mo have never tried to do so.
Dispite beeing highly influential nations. Especialy the tiger people.

the justification on invading tamriel is mostly that tamriel is the metaphysical axis of the world, containing most of the towers.

The "blade armour" is made for humanoids. The men if Akavir had a military, and invaded. Then the snake people ate them and attacked in every invasion from there in(excluding the kamel invasion pre Eso)

All You Need To Know About Akavir

this website pretty much sums it all up for you. TESO picks up about 100 years give or take after the assassination of the last Akaviri Potentate.

let us know if you have anymore questions. pretty sure @isilmo wrapped this up earlier this week.
