Dunmer are my absolutely favorite race. I know all about their culture and I just ... love them. Morrowind game started my love towards them, but I expanded it through other games...

Only reason for me to join EP would be to live in Morrowind again.

debateable tho. i wonder for example if the dungeon with that giant toad-snake thing is set inside argonia. it kind of did look like it would fit right in there.
also i wonder if that thing is supposed to be one of the argonian subraces weve heard so much about gone mad?

I did sort of assume all the "tropical" and swamp-like environments were set in Argonia :3 It looked really good, I was impressed by it and also pleasantly surprised. Argonians as a whole seem to pan out nicely actually, whereas I wasn't too impressed with the other character models =\

It's all pre-alpha though, so a lot may and probably will happen still ^^

i actually got quite the different impression. the argonians look awfull. especialy the females. these faces are just too rugged (but in a not natural way) and their armors look awfull besides that one that might aswell be nordic.

I just want them to be more like skyrim. i guess they want to give them a bit of a "sleek" look as a rogue based race. but seriously give me the more sharp, scaley look of the skyrim argonians back, now they look like they have green skin. I mean they do have a very native american look to them especialy that one mage in the argonian group shot. but still id much rather have them look like lizards again.

I have to agree on the females, yeah... They did look a bit off and too... sleek and almost skeletal in some ways, but some of the male ones I thought looked pretty good. Keep in mind, this I say in comparison to the other models we saw in the trailer, models in TESO as a whole. I would love to see realistic, rugged models like we see in Skyrim, but TESO is obviously going for a different approach, which I can live with. The gorgeous environments make up for any annoyances I have with the models xD

Personally, I'd just wear a full-face helmet to hide that new Argonian look. However even though I'm not going to play one, it does bother me a little how they were too human looking. I like the wild-looking Argonian models in Skyrim, and I like their unique gait from Morrowind. The devs should really focus on making the beast races unique in that sense.

not realy. even if i actually dont care for things like roleplaying.a not good looking character ruins a game for me. just totaly. if my character looks like shit i dont play the game (if its an rpg that is, if its a competetive game i dont care)

its about the artstyle not the quality. and what they got right now 1. doesnt fit with the lore 2. looks awfull.

Me and Tris have had conversations to this effect before actually. This must make us really bad RPers and stuff but I actually can't play as a character that looks like shit. Or atleast a character that I don't look at and go "Yep this looks good, no homo", because I simply can't stand it, if my character looks like shit I get less immersed in a game.

It's why I slave away over character creation so much, I want to make a character that I'm satisfied with, and if I'm not satisfied with that then it's going to -constantly- bother me.

thats the thing... i dont want my character to be "atttractive" i want it to look like something particular. its not like the argonians are hideus (well they are, but not in an aesthetic way but the way they are done just looks very unnatural) but the design itself is just off.
My Character in Skyrim was supposed to be butt ugly. when im playing a nord for example. id rather have him have a beer gutt and muscles instead of a bodybuilder body. at least when im going all beardet viking with him. it just feels better.

But these argonians they just dont look natural. They are just not pleasant to look at. they usually have this charmingly hideous vibe to them. with their huge pointy teethed grin. Now they just look retardet.

Id rather have a character be worn and ugly, in a way that shows that he has been through alot. or just doesnt care for his looks.
But now they just look like they are made of plastic for an ill recieved star trek episode. There is nothing believeable to their uglyness.

That's what bothered me in Rift.... Triangle-sliders for creation, ugh and ugh again >< Combine that with almost no sliders for the body and your constant annoyance when you play has been born. I really hope for more options in TESO's creator.

That said, character creation is an entirely different topic. Perhaps we/I should make a thread for that elsewhere xD

Edit: Exactly. Give me realism over looking "shiny and perfect" any day.

Oh jeez don't for a second think that I wanna play as some handsome hollywood hero, that's not what I meant. I just mean that even if I made a 'rough' character, I can't make someone who looks like a total piece of shit. Click the link in my sig and see what I mean, ignore my bad skyrim graphics, but that screenshot + my description of Vrage. He's the furthest thing from a clean cut hero, but I still can't make something that looks like a butt.

i pretty much decided to play on the pact when they mentioned being able to explore the black marsh, and the fact that i find incredibly interesting the little bit of lore that we know of the argonians, and the hist so finding out more of it will be fun.

though i do agree with Sordak about the design of the argonians feeling off, and not because they dont look "pretty" they just dont look like something that would function ... also the fact that you dont immediately go "oh those are some crazy murder lizards...they must be argonians" but instead go "huh...they kinda look lizard like...and they have tails, so i guess ...argonians? " means that there is something wrong with your design.
lets just hope its just part of the pre alpha models, and that you get a wide variety of choices to make your argonians look more skyrim like with big horns and feathers, or even bring back some of the oblivion/morrowind frills that some people missed in skyrim.
