Will everyone look the same?

I've googled around but I haven't really found a concise answer to something I've been wondering.

Will everyone in game around the same level pretty much look the same, or is there a lot of diversity in armor appearance? For instance, hypothetically, the majority of level 50 characters wearing heavy armor think orc styled armor is the best looking so every other person you see wearing heavy armor looks identical?

I just get the feeling at end game I will see everyone running around with the exact same armor.
Or does this only apply to crafted armor, and dungeon dropped armor will look different than the styles available through crafting?

There are lots of styles of crafted armor, 3 different weights & skill lines, and one can mix-and-match pieces. So, I think it will be easy to look fairly unique. It's also possible that a particular style will be deemed the most desirable. If you must have the same armor style that others have, you will probably look the same. If you place looking unique above your aesthetic preferences, you will probably be able to look different. From the style pictures I've seen, most of the armor is kind of dark, and from a distance many of the sets will look quite similar. Up close, each set has distinguishing details.

There are pictures on some of the fan sites. I know UESP has them.

Thanks for your insight! I have seen some pictures of various styles, but they were all crafted items. So does this mean that if you got a helmet from a dungeon, for example, that its appearance would fit into the same category as crafted items (medium armor breton style for example) or does dropped loot have its own unique appearance?

Like Poldano said, people may look similar from a distance, but there should be quite the variety of looks when examining folks up close. You could even mix and match the different styles. Say you like the Dunmer helmet, Orc chest piece, Nord shield, Khajiit weapon, and Bosmer for the other pieces, you could mix and match like that, and be totally unique from maybe everyone else in the game. If you weren't totally unique, I doubt there would be many like you at least.

The fires burn. Our supplies are spent. Axes are dull, and armor is rent. The enemy approaches, our doom, they seek. We are Daggerfall Covenant. We are Orcs. Our comrades, they come, for glory they seek, at the side of our iron and steel. We will not fall.

Personally I like the Dunmer chest and Imperial shoulders, and will have to fiddle around with legs, gloves, etc until I get the look I want. Mixing and matching is what I'll be doing as long as I'm not sacrificing too much in the way of stats for it.

Dont think so because the armor in the game is all equal and more for looks than which one is the most powerful like how in skyrim it was wise to use daedric or dragonbone and most people might go with their racial armor like i will.

I wasn't to sure about this myself either.

The thing I'm really interested in though, is getting my hands on all the sexy armor that looks unique as there is. There is some gorgeous ebony heavy armor and Akaviri heavy armor in the game that we'll have to find and not craft. Less than 24 hours now! Creepy

I'm not expecting to find many characters as heavy as mine.

Heavy? As in your character's figure? Well, I suppose it is up to one's preference but I wouldn't be surprised to see more sturdy looking Templars and DKs. Especially the more human-like races. :>

I like to max out or near-max out my character's height... And since I play ladies because I am one, I tend to stick out from the others of my race.

To answer your question....no! Zenimax didn't give me enough character customization. I am so unique, that I am a walking cliche.

All you can say is what?
.... whoops

More like the type of heavy that leads her to custom-tailour her own clothing. A full figure. An... overflowing figure.

I haven't been in character creator cause I couldn't be online for beta, so I'm not sure exactly how big that is, but if it's possible, I think my Argonian DK would look pretty cute if she were chubby. Can't wait until tomorrow to check it out for myself :>

It's such a surprisingly cute look that I completely changed the type of character I wanted to play at launch. xD
