I wonder how that would work in Cyrodiil... will you really effectively be able to do some sort of Cyrodiil dungeon with a mixed faction party? Would you even be able to party up with them? If not you wouldn't be able to heal them. And then there's the whole problem of friendly fire.

On the other hand, I suppose it would feel a bit like playing Skyrim when you accidentally kill Lydia (oops).

"Honestly Joe, my accidentally killing you 15 times in that dungeon and gaining a rank in pvp was entirely coincidental."

I'm assuming that if ZOS allowed you to go into a party with different faction members, they would be smart enough to go "Oh, if you're in a party you obviously don't want to kill each other so let's turn off damage between you guys and make it so you can heal each other".

Well yeah, if they let you party up. But I as talking about how would it work if you couldn't party up with each other to do an open world dungeon. Could it still be done?

Damn the Lore.

i have personally seen too many MMOs fail because towns and servers became ghost towns because people had to choose between a faction or a server. i know TESO eliminates the server problem but making the players choose between three ways faction wise, may have negative consequences.

i reemphasize, i think factions should only serve for pvp purposes.

It appears the closest thing to this is public dungeons in cyrodiil. You could link up with your buddies and raid together. One big upset to this is other people are in too, so how long you group would last is iffy to say the least.

@Rickter you are brave for giving such bold words in a fan forum for a series of games of which many people take lore very seriously. Probably one of the more fleshed out series of any media which has such a rich lore.

Anyways perhaps they'll implement some form of cross faction partying within the same guild for dungeon finders. But other than that, it's kind of a staple in MMOs to not have enemy factions play together cooperatively. Even the cross faction guilds won't be in the same campaign as one another. I believe it is to encourage faction pride.

To clarify. Guild members of different factions cannot play in the same cyrodiil campaign.

This means u will never get to run as a dunmer with a altmer guildy in the game.

Oh and the 50+ zones are only instanced with lvl 50 players of the same faction.

All this seperating will hurt the games community doesnt help it in anyway.
