Will TESO events be recorded in lore?

Will the MAJOR "player-controlled" events taking place in TESO be recorded in lore? For example, will Zenimax record how many times a stronghold (especially the Imperial City) changes hands and then make that information an official piece of TES lore? Or even who controlled how much of Cyrodil for how long? I for one would be for it assuming that we will be restricted by TESO's mechanics from doing anything that would damage the lore.

We could write this chapter of lore as community, which would be awesome in my opinion, though I'm sure someone has a good reason I've overlooked for Zenimax not to record major "player-controlled" events as official lore history (such as sieges and whatnot).

no.

certain events such as the main story, faction stories and other world events might be recordet but the names of players or the PvP results never will for obvious reasons.
There is more than one instance of Cyrodiil. Did i also mention player names like "sackmcbigcock"?

Officially they probably won't, though it is a good idea. Whether fansites will is another matter. The only problem is; that events may move too quickly or have too little meaning. So there could be three Battles of Kvatch in the same month But I like the idea, especially when it gives the players the opportunity to create history.

Yeah , a faction choosing "sackmcbigcock to become Emperor and then that being added to official lore would kinda wreck the whole thing xD

You don't "choose" an emperor. The Emperor is the player in the winning faction who contributed the most faction points. Also, I'm pretty sure a name like that would be banned.

So, only the player in the winning faction who contributed the most faction points can be an emperor ? I thought it could be almost anyone from that faction (if he does PvP combat ofc).

Yeah dude , you took my post a little too seriously , and even if it is only whoever contributed most it doesn't stop the potential for that person to have a retarded name such as my example which was kinda my point....

They might even police character names so only lore friendly or inoffensive names are allowed.

Otherwise, I'd bet that all or most of the history we make in TESO will be lost at the time TES:VI takes place, considering it wasn't there at earlier periods in time, nor would it be pleasant to read that "xXx3p1cN0rdxXx was the emperor for like a week during the years 2E:X and 2E:Y"

For the sake of the game I would really really really love to see a Name translator from English to the races native language. (yes I know that would mean they would have to create 8 languages). Or just some sort of tool so players who can't learn what a lore friendly name would be able to get one.

Or something like a random name generator or something with lore accurate names.

Everything talked about for names is pretty much what WoW does, and it works. Random name generator in case you have no idea better than 'McLovin' and although there aren't name police...just report anyone named xXSparklesBarbieXx and they'll have to change their name on the next logon. Works pretty well.

aah i disagree with policing names. even though i dislike Kids and people with names like this! i do not have the right or authority to tell any one who can or cannot play. everyone should be able to play what ever game they choose (with in reason)

however i think how mega server works we shouldn't have to spend our time with people like this ... i hope.

how i might the lore might be shown is maybe by books in later elder scrolls names merely as a nod to ESO.
so for an example a book could say: 'sources say that during the sixth century of the second era the daedric prince Molag Bal tried to merge tamerial with cold harbour. during this tamerial split itself into three factions and those faction thought over the ruby throne'

that actualy might even be true since m'aiq has been in 3 tes games III IV and V making him already over 200 years old he might be even a lot older maybe he was around during the events of teso and they will actualy use him n future elder scrolls games to bring lillte bits of player accomplishments into the tes world making us feel like we had a real inpact on the tes world

I thought M'aiq was a lineage of Khajiit, not just the one. I suppose stories could be passed down through the generations though. And that would be a very useful mechanic with respect to the players of TESO forming at least a small amount of viable and weighty lore that can be carried into other other games like Darchee Jaiil said.
