umm... you have a point (quoted from MMO champion after searching a bit about FFXI and teso): "FFXI is in a stall; it's neither gaining nor losing subs because all the people playing right now are the people were playing back since when it started. It survives because due to fan dedication from when it started."

Neither gaining nor losing in my opinion is a good thing, it means the game stays open and playable for a long time, dedicated players are what make or break games, so doing things for the masses who just want to throw their coins at new things tends to break games.
It's part of why so many dedicated WoW players quit.

It will stay P2P, I am not a beta player, I know several people who played beta and at least one who still does play beta I think. Now you will read and hear negative things about every game and mmo, but the most negative things I have heard from people I personally know is

"Their is not a lot different about it, it is like other mmo's, it didn't seem bad" Quoted from one person. He is not a TES fan.

"It's different, the mechanics are way different form other mmo's, I would play it for sure if it was F2P" Quoted from a current swtor player, and has never played a TES game in his life. This quote completely counter acts the statement about the game in the first quote.

I won't bother quoting the two TES fans I know that played beta, one which has played every TES game in existence and is a mmo player as well. They have shared a lot of thoughts about the game and its very positive.

Ultimately all that is coming from beta's. I personally have seen some beta videos floating around and the game looks amazing and the combat is looking really good right now. The beta footage I saw made the combat look much better then the Quakecon walkthrough in my opinion actually. Fyi, one of the beta videos I saw had countless numbers of people on screen (I mean this literal) and I did not see any performance issues. I don't know the persons specs, but regardless, it was impressive.

When the game is getting closer to release or has actually come out it will be a high quality mmo. Different, fun, more immersive then any mmo's I have played in a long while. The PvP has massive fun and potential as well. I am not only VERY glad that teso is P2P but am very sure it will stay P2P, I really hope.

No I am not sharing the beta footage or where I found it, so I don't think I am braking any rules with this post, hopefully not.

tes fans like you those you talked about, you and me, will hold up the game to f2p. but what about the endgame, the final step of every MMO should do, and many have been failed in those levels. yes, in a month or two all the wow/swtor/gw2 players will leave, and only the "true" fans of tes and so those players from wow and swtor and gw2 that started to like the game will stay, but will the endgame content will satisfy us?

ive asked that same small question in another post, and got to a point when no one knows what the endgame will actually be.

the pvp looks great, and i glad they used their own system to populate a fine number of people in a small stronghold, wich will realy make many pvpers to just jump into the game, and the unique quests tamriel shares with us will always be fine and unique.

but will the pve content could change teso's subcription vision?

edit: we know the pve will be long and the mobs will become aware to our aura, but those small things could change the game, for good and bad.

PvP has always been end game for me personally, I only group pve when I haft to most of the time. Adventure Zones are setup to be fun for both solo, small group and raid group players from my understanding. Adventure zones sound like they are going to be a lot of fun, but me saying that is do also to how fun the combat itself is going to be in the game.

I will enjoy playing with rl friends and buddies on teamspeak through adventure zones. I am sure their are more aspects of end game pve then Adventure Zones, but I am not the one to ask.

For me Cyrodiil is ALL the end game I need, it is a big pvp sandbox minus player looting. It has massive potential and am looking forward to it.

Of course I cannot know for sure, but I sincerely hope it will stay pay to play, a sub usually means that people get a paycheck for customer service and quality development!

None of us know how it will turn out a year after release. If it's a shitty game it will most likely be forced to go F2P. Not even the Star Wars brand could save SWTOR from F2P within a year because it wasn't a really good game.

I'm hoping we get at least 2 years of P2P. LOTRO was a great game before it went f2p and I enjoyed every minute of it. But I haven't been back since.
By the end of 24 months or so I'll be done and it'll be ok for the developers to quit thinking about how to keep me interested, and devote themselves 100% to figuring out how to get someone to spend that next dime.

Exactly the same. I hope it stays P2P for as long as possible.
