I really hope not. RMAH was one of the things that ruined Diablo 3. I will say that although people want a nice safe environment to buy items for cash, it really does make getting items too easy.

I HIGHLY doubt there'll be any in-game mall, but if there is, it will most likely just be cosmetic items...

NO. That shit ruins games. Well the cosmetic items are fine. But any advanced potion or items like you say is a stupid idea.

I certainly hope not, everything that could be considered as advancing your character (i.e. potions, armor, spells) should only be available for purchase with in-game gold. In my opinion anyways, I hate the RMAH system that D3 uses which would be very similar to this mall.

i would suggest watching the extra credit video on micro transactions. basically the rule is Don't sell power! i personally disagree with the way games have done it so far, nothing breaks immersion more than having to buy something with real money in game, having to stop look for my wallet and then having to enter in my card details.

Wouldn't it be great if a game could run a sub and let players gain all items that makes their gameplay pleasant by actually playing the game (normal playing, not grind play) Grinning

Wow really hope ESO doesn't turn into pay to win trash .

This topic's kinda stupid, ESO never even gave the slightest hint that that would happen, in fact, when pressed regarding their business model, Matt Firor said it would be "Premium" (implying Pay 2 Play). The odds of a $300 million game being turned into a Pay 2 Win are so small it's ridiculous, especially coming from guys like Matt Firor, and being within the Elder Scroll series, which has a reputation to uphold. I don't think there'll be a cash shop, if there is, it'll be cosmetic items only, I can almost guarantee you that.

Yeah I really hope there's no cash shop for anything other than vanity items, tbh I can't believe people are wanting a cash shop that sells ingame boosts and gear but I guess everybody's different , just waiting for the 'AFK auto attack training mode plz' thread now , make me wonder why some people even bother playing mmo's now if they can't be arsed doing the work for top gears..

Oh god its like you can continue shooting Iron arrows, or buy $10 worth of Daedric arrows now!!!!!!
I would never play a game that does this. Not even on my phone, I emulate things.

Various interviews have already mentioned a "marketplace" and I think that means an AH...I can not see a top tier MMO like ESO will be launching without some sort of AH in place it just makes no sense at all for it to not include this iconic feature that MMO players are used to.

This is not saying I want an in game shop that requires the player to get out their credit cards and spend real money...I hate that in MMO's however I can see ESO launching with a subscription payment model and a vanity cash shop. That way they have their asses covered in case the games payment model fails and they need to go to free to play...I hope that Zenimax is confident enough to launch without this but I somehow doubt they are that confident at this point.

HELL NO !! I have Diablo III and never use the RMAH. I hate seeing people with 150 in-game hours with god-like gear. Source --> RMAH. Ruins everything. One & only thing I`d never allow in ESO. Cosmetic items and some special shit, be my guest, but gear and stuff, NO.

But come to think of it, if they balance crafting, loot from enemies and rewards from raids and PvP well, there will be no need for the RMAH. The thing with Diablo was, and still is, good parts are extremely hard to get by simply playing, because most affixes are shit (thorns and bleed dmg lol), and most people rely on RMAH. Besides, gear you get from crafting is wasted money and resources. Total crap. cough*Jay Wilson and the new crew sucked*cough Gameplay`s not bad though, just chars arenot balanced.

Hopefully it is just cosmetics and what not gotta say I would not mind like an old school AH like WoW had just player based and what not with in game currency that was actually nice especially when you did not feel like grinding for crafting bullshit.

I sure hope not - I might be OK with cosmetic items.. and ONLY if people who isn't interested in spending real money is able to get the items as well (Just easier to buy them with real money).
