With Zenimax's recent announcement of the Imperial Edition of the Elder Scrolls Online, the Imperial as a race will be available to those who pre-order the collector's addition. This could provide some interesting opportunities for roleplay in general, as your people were the ones who brought the entire incident involving Molag Bal to Nirn in the first place.

Do YOU plan to roleplay an Imperial? What faction are you going to choose? How will your character feel about the mistake their kind has made?

I'm curious to see responses as I myself plan to create an Imperial mage, and certainly intend to RP him.

Yeah I'll probably create an Imperial in the DC, I can't picture Imperials joining any other faction, though I don't know if I'll RP him or not.

I'm considering creating an Imperial character for release.

Out of all of the "human" races in the Elder Scrolls, I tend to choose the Imperials over the others. Their imperialism ideals of uniting all into an empire through trade, diplomacy, and a disciplined standing army is appealing to me from a lore perspective. They say they wish to unite all to achieve order, peace, and prosperity, but there's also the darker side of corruption and domination. These two sides make things dynamic. They're sort of the "frontiersmen" in the strange and hostile world of Tamriel-- while the land is filled with what they see as barbaric savages, strange mer, and beastmen; they're the Empire trying to bring it all together.

If I were to make an Imperial character, I'd probably have him be a legionaire who rebels against the "corrupted" Tharn rule and joins the Daggerfall Covenant as they have the closest ideology to the Empire. The thing is, Imperial Legionaires are most impressive in formidable numbers: Lines and ranks of uniformed and disciplined Imperial soldiers ready to march into battle as a single force.

Ideally if I were to make an Imperial I'd want to be in an Imperial RP-Military guild, who's objective is to take back their homeland and restore some sort of uncorrupt rule. At the same time though, I've done my fair share of Military RP, which tends to be very by-the-book and no-nonsense; so I was thinking of trying a more independent route going into TESO.

Eh, I'll have to think it over more!

Character Profiles:
Endaros Ilmori - Buoyant Armiger
Sunrio - Aldmeri Justiciar

Taren Jucanis - Imperial Deserter (Used for The Black Shroud RP)

Like others, I'll probably have an Imperial character as part of the DC. I've a couple of concepts that I think might suit an Imperial. Whether I'll actually play one extensively in TESO is another matter, I always mock up a load of templates and then pick a few to actually play when I've done some testing in-game.
