What are your reasons for choosing your race? And what do you like most about the alliance you chose?

*please no insulting other alliances, there are taverns for that

I have always liked the elven races, each for their own reasons and the khajiits are also very fun to play and interact with. AD was a natural choice for me, as I think that Altmer - the most inteligent and cultured race in Tamriel is also most fitting to rule. I have considered playing as a Dunmer, because they make great sinister characters, but I just can't be in an alliance with the Nords, whom I dislike for their fervent nationalism.

I was trying to think of a good character and raceto match my play style, and found that the Khajiit did this best. I also liked the Aldmeri Dominion from Skyrim, they seemed to have a lot of power...

I picked all 4 options, I agree with them all, however. I don't care for any of those reasons

So if it was up to you which races would you put together? And why?

If it were up too me any race could be of any particular political view just like it is in reality.

But it isn't like that in reality. It may seem like it, but people are governed by ruling bodies which supposedly are meant to ensure the prosperity of their respective peoples (whether or not they actually do that is another discussion entirely). Propaganda and such all contribute to a government pushing its people towards a specific end. Especially during medieval times, a people went to war or made peace depending on what the government saw fit. Allies were made depending on ideological/geographical/racial similarities, as can be seen in ESO. The elves rally around a cry for change, that humans are corrupted and do not deserve the throne. the EP realizes that the leaders of Tamriel must ensure the safety of all citizens from the threat of the Daedra, and so unlikely allies are made. The DC wants a strong economy and strong leadership, and trading equality for all, and so through diplomatic means forged an alliance to pursue their goals. All the races that are allied together are located close together, for if you went to war you would want a friend nearby and not halfway across the continent.

All in all it really makes sense the way they have done it, least to me it does.

Its is like that in reality take Australia for example.

South australia is not all labor governed
western Australia is not all liberal governed
Victoria is not all greens governed

i live in south Australia with no political view why do i have to be forced into one....

THAT IS REALITY.

Plus they have already told us that in all the provinces you will find all the races, so your so called lore abidding game just broked :).
Wouldnt those other races in an enemy province be killed for being suspected of a enemies political view? Or are npc now exempt from lore in the elderscrolls online?.

So again racial/faction locks are crap it is seperating players that wanted to play together now they have to choose between alliance

Perhaps they have said that, I'm not sure. It sounds familiar but I can't remember what source it was from if you could clarify.

Then again, I see no reason why traders or pirates or bandits could not be within other alliances. They never said anything about the NPC's being there legally.

We live in a different world. A modern, globally aware world. In medieval times there was no such thing. You went to war or made peace as a country. We still have that today, where as a nation no matter what political views you have, if the nation goes to war, then the soldiers will be sent to fight. They may not agree with the reasons but they will be sent nonetheless. At least today we are a little more aware of it, and the majority will not support a war waged for selfish reasons (unless they can be convinced otherwise). During the Dark Ages, the king said it so it will be done. Only when it became outrageous did a people stand up for change, and even then it didn't always work. What I'm saying here is just because an individual may have differing views, in the setting of TES, you still belong to a group, a collective, and collectives within the TES universe are what define an individual. People went to war because they're governing bodies said so. People allied together when goals were alike and geographically it was advantageous.

So npc characters from various races are allowed anywhere in tamriel but players arent? lore breaking.

and as for forcing me to go too war irl..it wont happen i would rather go too jail than die too save a happy meal.

You ignored my point of people not being there legally. We all are technically some form of soldier in this game. We are active within Cyrodiil fighting for our respective alliances. Pirates, some form of covert operation deep or just a simple peasant serf trader. People like that who don't have destinies like our characters are supposed to have, or some other reason, can make sense.

Really it's just a waiting game to see how they implement it. If they screw it up then that's unfortunate.

So your saying npc are allowed their legally but players arent? dont argue for the sake of arguing your point is proven flawed and lorebreaking. the first non nord dunmer argonian i see in my alliance terrortory as a npc be it hostile or friendly i will lose my shit. why because i cant do the same Im locked out. that choice of mine to be who i want to be is taken from me just a little bit more.

i dont know why everyone is essentially forced to be a soldier. in reality, if 2 countries are at war, its not like the people of those countries are forced to hate each other. in fact, in reality, alot of citizens are against war, why cant our players be against it if npc's dont have to be?
