Firstname - Zimilael
Sex - Male
Race - Altmer
Age - 26
Occupation – Mage, Scholar, Poet
Faction – Aldmeri Dominion
Appearance – White, shoulder length hair and lightning blue eyes that serve as evidence of his endeavors in the arcane. He prefers to wear pants instead of the traditional mage robes seen by those in his line of work. Along with that, he wears a hooded cloak to protect himself from the elements when out on adventures.
Personality – Zimilael is a charming, sweet, ambitious and lovesick individual. He tends to talk a little too much, often wearing out his listeners with tales of adventure and poetry that he has written himself. He is fond of children, as they remind him of himself in their curiosity and thirst for knowledge. They are also his most receptive audience for his stories.
He is frequently described as sarcastic, witty, the center of most debates in any given town at any given time. He has a passion for knowledge, and enjoys a good war of words. When it comes time for war, he is no coward and is often one of the first to be present when conflict arises. He is loyal, dedicated and relentless. He believes that great battles make for great stories, and what a tragedy it would be to having been looked upon for an epic tale, be found lacking.
Social Background/Backstory –
“For every question there is an answer, and for every answer there are more questions. Ahh, but to the question of love, there are no answers. There are only more questions!"
Zimilael grew up around the upper echelon of Altmer society. Taking for granted his own privilege, his father sent him to live among the Bosmer for a period of time. After returning, he had a newfound love for all things Altmer. He isn’t racist, but he prefers the more sophisticated living over the more barbaric (in his view) ways of the wood elves. He has grown to love culture and literature, poetry and songs. He has even taken to writing his own songs and literature, hoping to one day be remembered for the tales he has left behind.
As much as he can be found in the libraries of different cities searching for answers, or studying and refining his skills as a mage (for he does not take the calling lightly or for granted), he can be found in wilds and deeps of Tamriel, searching for artifacts and tomes once forgotten by others. If there was anything he learned from his time in Valenwood, it was the art of survival. In his travels, he has often come across many whom he could charm, inspire and otherwise woo. But there was one, a priestess whom he found he could not charm with simple shows of bravery or knowledge or wit.
This one was unimpressed with such things and it was her with whom he truly fell in love. Her name was Cyntana, and she was an altmer who recently went to live in Cyrodiil to offer her services as an effort in the war. She amused him by listening to his stories, and exchanging details about their respective lives, and eventually they grew into an inseparable pair bonded by love and mutual beliefs.
Best Memory – Meeting Cyntana the priestess from Cyrodiil.
Worst Memory – The time he spent living amongst the Bosmer in Valenwood (“for obvious reasons” he would say).
Skills – Gifted and trained in the Arcane and combat; excellent poet and storyteller.
Challenges for the Character – Zimilael has a hard time taking rejection and feels that most of the time he is right and he is wrong only when he doubts himself. He prides himself in the books he has read the artifacts he has discovered and the studies he has completed. With that comes a sense of pride that he must overcome. His narrow minded thinking and argumentative nature will cause him to wear out his welcome in certain places if he is not careful.
Religious Views- He respects, acknowledges and believes in the Altmer pantheon. He doesn’t devotedly follow anyone in particular, but his interest in them has increased significantly after his time spent with Cyntana.
Politics Views- Supports the Altmeri agenda for reform and change in the world, starting with the taking of Cyrodiil.
S/O to @Triskele for letting me use her idea from her bio of Sahar. I really enjoyed that last part and thanks for letting glean that idea.
A Few Things That May Or May Not Be True
“It is said that while in Valenwood I made the clan leader’s daughter fall in love with me with the wave of my hand. This is false. I had one love when I was in Valenwood – home.”
“Some think that the poems I write are actually my failed attempts at writing spells. I like to keep my magic and my musings separate. If perhaps you are mesmerized by my writings and find them magical, then perhaps I have succeeded by failing.”
“Yes I am still welcome in Bruma. Even after the incident with the Jarl of Whiterun’s cousin.”
“You want to hear some of my poetry, do you? Excellent! I call this one “A Kiss At Dawn”
We met in the moonlight, your eyes brighter than any star,
We spoke of times past, things we hold near which are far,
For we both are far from home, but hold it dear within our hearts,
And in my heart is room for you, and the kiss we had at dawn.”
Hope you guys enjoyed! Feedback and suggestions are welcome!
